Den 45-årige, enarmede Ahmet Alusan var en driftig mand, som havde skabt sig en agtet stilling på sin hjemegn, en lille landsby i Tyrkiet. Han var gift, ejede jord, forretning og penge. Hvor meget af den gode økonomi skyldtes hans illegale narkotikaaffærer unddrager sig nærmere bedømmelse. Men Ahmet var alligevel ikke tilfreds med sin lod i tilværelsen, han ville vinde mere gods og guld.

Havde drabet fundet sted i vore dage, havde det med den op gennem årene stadig stigende og i sin brutalitet stedse voksende vold næppe givet anledning til mere end en kortfattet omtale i dagspressen.

At en tyv overraskes hører til hverdagsscener, men at han bliver drabsmand er sjældent, ligesom drabsmanden sjældent er 66 år.

To unge mennesker begår et hensynsløst mord på en taxichauffør. Udbyttet blev sølle 30 kroner, men straffen til gengæld hård – 14 år til hovedgerningsmanden og 4 ½ år til medhjælperen.

Politiets mere tidsberøvende arbejde er for en stor del behandling af sager vedrørende påsatte brande, der i sagens natur vanskeliggøres ved at sporene i mange tilfælde er forsvundet på brandstedet. I denne beretning skildres en påsat brand i en lejlighed i Ishøj, hvor der tilsyneladende var tale om en hævnakt mod beboerne i lejligheden.
