Six Characters in Search of an Author (Sei personaggi in cerca dautore) is the renowned masterpiece by Italian playwright Luigi Pirandello. In the preface, Pirandello reflects on the timeless nature of storytelling, likening it to Dante’s Inferno where characters like Francesca narrate their tales anew with each telling. The play revolves around six distinct characters, each with their own perception of reality, leading to a kaleidoscopic array of interpretations. No single character holds the absolute truth; rather, their identities are shaped by both their own experiences and the ...

In modern society writing a letter, on paper, is almost unheard of. We all scribble notes and reminders but very rarely compose our thoughts in lengthy prose for another person to read. Recovery comes in a myriad of forms but is usually debilitating, slow and, in the end, we are not as whole as we once were.It is a subject that authors return to again and again.

Conversations happen everywhere. A few words to pass the time or a detailed examination of views. But on trains they seem to be different. Speaking whilst in motion gives the whole discussion a momentum that often takes us into uncharted territory.
