  • Aliases, Hindsight and That Thai Sunset. with Aïsha Fathi
    Mar 27 2024

Tom’s final guest of this latest batch of episodes is newfound DJ in the Dutch music scene Aïsha Fathi. She discovered her unexpected passion during the covid pandemic, and from that point on she has evolved into a mesmerising artist that captures the ears, the eyes and the whole damn night. She is a force to be reckoned with, and once you witness both aliases; the more ravey underground side of Isha Faith, alongside the happier warmer side of AIS De La Montagne, holy hell are you in for a euphoric dance to remember. Get yourself to the Netherlands!

Tom and Aïsha met backpacking in Thailand in 2019 and reflect on some of their most poignant memories of their trips and how they have changed as individuals. The conversation takes a serious focus on the implications of face to face criticism from people that frankly, as Aïsha acknowledges, reflect their own insecurities onto other successful emerging artists. Leading them onto a whole chat about hindsight and how you can really stand your own and effectively bury those haters in one quick swiping sentence. There are plenty of laughs, alter-egos, DIY cooling systems, scooter mishaps, one more sausage, and a bucket of life quotes. This episode was absolutely riddled with connection issues when recording, but luckily you don’t need to listen to any of that! However the final minute does involve Aïsha seemingly conversing with herself, Tom was there though!

You can follow our guest Aïsha on both of her DJ alias Instagram accounts @ais.delamontagne and @_isha_faith, and on soundcloud again at AIS De La Montagne and Isha Faith.

  • Tribes, Purging and Graham. with James Goodman
    Mar 20 2024

James Goodman takes to the seat this week as Tom’s guest, the polar opposite of what he’s used to, considering he’s a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. An 8 year serving knight in shining armour for our fantastic NHS, he is a trooper, and has helped more than a thousand patients with their mental health; from OCD and phobias, to anxieties and PTSD. Without people like James, a lot of others wouldn’t be making it as far as they do.

His journey, like all of ours, is incredibly humbling, and relatable for many, as both men quickly pull comparisons on their school years. The two discuss their differing (but under the spotlight) similar experiences of young adulthood and how mob mentality and body image in particular set them on their closely paved paths. They exchange thoughts on their personal experiences with medical professionals as teenagers and young men, as well as holding a strong focus on the catastrophic effects of eating disorders. What makes this podcast so special is that everybody has an opportunity to speak. And for James, someone who is around the clock on the receiving end of other people’s struggles, he really thrives and takes a well needed hour to reflect on his past trauma and triumphs, and how they forged him into the superhero he is today.

This week’s episode of ResetwithTom covers more sensitive topics of mental health. So I’m putting out a trigger warning for bulimia and related eating disorders. If you’re struggling please see the included links in this episode’s description. Love ya’s.

  • Big Grrrls, Black Hair and Hamster Care. with Diavian Galloway
    Mar 13 2024

This week’s guest Diavian Galloway is a shining beacon of what it is and what it looks like to self-embrace. Tom initially saw Diavian’s social media posts, owning her presence and opening up about her battles with trying to hide her black hair and body. Now, she is absolutely owning her song. She opened herself up, stripped herself back to her, and really put out the importance of embracing your identity and accepting what we trick ourselves into thinking are our faults.

Diavian spends the first few minutes trying to gauge her significance in being an inspirational individual after having been asked to come on the show, and that is humbling enough to witness. Tom and Diavian go deep into body representation, peer-pressure, queer identity, wigs, self diagnoses, neurospiciness, toxic relationships, garden going-ons, and a whole lotta Lizzo. It's bad bitch time.

  • Erotic Novels, Drifters and It’s Gay As F***. with Ben Alderson
    Mar 6 2024

Tom’s back after a break in episodes and his first guest is one not to be missed - a force to be reckoned with quite frankly. This serving is hot, it’s spicy, it’s revealing, it's thought-provoking, nostalgic, reflective as always, and it’s gay as f***, and they don’t hold back. Ben Alderson is an MM Fantasy author. A path he never imagined himself slaying down until the realisation of his deep love for books and writing slapped him in the face, after the prospect of primary school teaching gave him the “ick”. He is an Amazon best selling author, TikTok Author of the Year nominee, with twelve books already on those shelves, and four more in the wings. This guy is on fire.

Providing an out of this world space where his fans can get lost in, queer or not, he is conquering what he loves to do. Ben is power fuelling representation in these novels, and this niche pocket of genre stories is making waves. From heartbroken fae-hunters with foot fetishes, to an eight tentacled sea witch top and his sassy twink prince, Ben’s brain does not stop churning out these fantastical beings that live and breathe his magical pages. So strap in, hide granddad’s ears, things are going to get bumpy.

  • Bikepacking, Solitude and Sweetcorn. with Emma Cole
    Feb 7 2024

Could you travel over 2000 kilometres (1200 miles) from England to Tunisia, Africa, on your own, on a bicycle? Well that’s only what this week’s adventure driven guest went and did. Emma Cole talks Tom through her latest solo expedition and what an adventure like this one really does for the soul. This is a grounding conversation between two avid adventurers, talking over the life changing benefits and well needed pitfalls of taking that initial leap to step out of your comfort zone, and how it really is one of the greatest moves we can make. Emma’s love for her bicycle, a deeper understanding of independence, and the beauty of unexpected human kindness culminate in a nostalgic reflection of becoming comfortable with yourself, even in uncomfortable situations.

Emma worked as a features writer for everything double wheeled at Cyclist magazine before only this month pedalling into her own freelance journey. Yes Emma!  Championing a more sustainable future and getting people to experience adventure and sport is what drives this woman. She has mentored in Kazakhstan and the USA, and set up a volunteering programme for a rural non-profit organisation in Morocco. Emma has taught languages, sports, coached, and mentored. She’s been a reporter, had her own podcast, co-hosted a podcast for Cyclist, as well as taking on a mountain load of trails, runs, hikes, cycles, you name it. What's next on the adventure list? Or actually, as Emma and Tom discuss, let's alleviate that pressure of what's next, and just go with the flow.

  • Coffee Chat, Dementia and Rhinoplasties. with Natasha Beghi
    Jan 31 2024

Grab yourself a coffee and take a seat with Tom and his guest Natasha Beghi as they drink theirs. A catch up between friends this week as the two discuss aspects of their lives that have come to the surface over the years. They explore their mutual experience of dementia and the toll it takes on everyone involved, and Natasha talks all things podcast as we celebrate her journey, personal achievements and the empowerment she’s fuelled others with during her time as a podcast host. Natasha is a prime example of what inspirational means, even asking Tom at one point - “Why did you ask me to come on here?” Tom will tell you why!

Natasha and her sister Nikkita launched their podcast Two Chickpeas In A Podcast in 2019, shining a light on what it is to be British Asian today in our society. Delving deep into heritage, identity, educating the people, but on top of everything they bring their beautiful selves. Their sisterhood. Their personalities. Their drives. Their love for who they are, what they represent, and it’s all brought right to the forefront. It’s inspiring what they do. Now get that coffee ready and have a chill with Tom and Natasha. Yes YOU Harry!

Sometimes you just need a moment and to feel okay about it! We touch on how fitness, the gym, and the pole saved this man’s life, society taboos, the strength of the human body, and going through it. Dominic is a life and confidence coach, certified bereavement counsellor, personal trainer AND pole instructor. Helping people with their careers, relationships, identity, managing anxiety, with a strong focus on queer spaces and individuals. He’s basically just here to help. • Kona, Grief and The Iron Geek. with Hollie Cradduck
    Jan 17 2024

Tom takes a personal journey with our guest Hollie Cradduck as she talks him through the worst day of her life. A delicate look into her experience of bereavement, grief and loss, but also embracing where life can take us after a death, how we honour those beautiful people, and the way in which we eventually become better versions of ourselves, for them.

Tom and Hollie discuss her love for a crazy undertaking; from Iron Man triathlons, to marathons, to swimming the English Channel. Hollie is on a mission. They weigh up her decade long dedication of extreme challenges to her niece Rose and many others, and whether now it’s time Hollie took on something for Hollie.
