Sintesi dell'editore
What is Clare Wingate doing? One minute she's suffering in a pretty-in-pink gown she'll never wear again, and the next thing she knows, it's morning and she has the nastiest hangover of her life.
To make matters worse, she's wearing nothing but a spritz of Escada and lying next to Sebastian Vaughan, her girlhood crush turned sexy, globe-trotting journalist. Somewhere between the toast and the toss of the bouquet, she got herself into a whole lot of trouble.
Clare had the right to go wild - after all, she'd been knocked off her dyed-to-match shoes after finding her own fiancé in a compromising position with the washing machine repairman. Clearly her society wedding is off.
But Sebastian pushed all the wrong buttons - and some of the right ones. Clare is in no mood for love - not even for lust - and wants to forget about Sebastian and his six-pack abs ASAP. But he isn't in the mood to go away, and his kiss is impossible to forget.

Too lovey dovey for my taste
Listened to the first book and it was good. The second one however - good grief. I mean I'm all for romance - that's why I listen to books like this but the last two hours were just bad. It was just too much of the I love you and why and how and good grief poor woman went for the wrong guy AGAIN even though everybody KNOWS she is gonna get him in the end. I'm all for happy ending but man that dragged....

4.5 Stars - Good Read!
I'm in No Mood for Love by Rachel Gibson (Audio Edition)
Narrated by Kathleen Early
The Writer Friends #2
4.5 Stars - I was happy to see Clare finally get her happily ever after. She had to work through some large emotional moments in this book and I liked that Sebastian was there to help her through it. These two had a wonderful spark between them.
There were some funny parts, and some super sweet parts (which were perfectly suited for a romance writer!) I totally enjoyed this story. Kathleen Early did a great job with narration! I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Predictable Gibson
This was a fairly predictable Gibson contemporary romance. It is the second in her series about four writers. It did start from a somewhat unique perspective - the main character was in love with someone else when she first connects with her hero and the book takes the time to mourn the loss of that relationship. And both of the main characters had parental issues that had a ring of truth to them. The biggest issue I had with the plot is there is very little evidence that Sebastian is falling in love with Clair. He just suddenly is in love with her. And then shortly after that, the book ends.
Kathleen Early does a good job with the narration.

Dated
This was written in 2006, and shows every bit of its age. The romance is well done, but she’s done better stuff overall elsewhere.

Waiting on the next book
This is another good story in this series. RG writes a great book. Love her continued references to the Hockey team. I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the writers series. Kathleen Early is doing a fantastic job with narration. I think I will find another book that she has narrated while waiting on the next Rachel Gibson book.

Horrible love interest
DNF 70%. I really wanted to like this book. I loved the first one of the series, and I did find Clare pretty fun. However, I DESPISE Sebastian. He was extremely mean, narcissistic, condescending, and sexist. Every time Clare and Sebastian were interacting I found myself thinking "oh my god he is such an a**hole, why is she even talking to him?" It wasn't fun the antagonism you'd find in a good enemies-to-lovers story because he genuinely enjoyed being mean to Clare and she always came away feeling horrible about the interaction. Their interactions just made me too unhappy to consider finishing the story.

Oh What a Pal
Would you listen to I'm in No Mood for Love again? Why?
Yes as author and reader include you into the gang. Our hero, is what some of us would have loved to have experienced growing up. Note: I do use the new 1.25 speed to match the authors intent.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
These are simple feel good stories. Yum on the hero, but not over the top FSOG type of romance. You re listen when you want a break from the fast pace of doing chores.
Author has skills for laugh out loud wit, and I will have to re listen to this story as I could very well have missed it, but her strength comes from creating sweet but admired heroines. Don't mistake sweet for weakness as these stories show.
What about Kathleen Early’s performance did you like?
I have become a huge fan of Ms Early. She has improved so much from Reading Karin slaughter's Will Trent series, (you have to cull the series as unfortunately some of the stories have very graphic violence and are not for me.)
Miss early can interpret this authors work so well that the stories don't have to be overly complicated to be enjoyed. I have re listened to Sex,Lies, and On Line Dating. I really enjoyed the book, 5 star, the 2nd time I listened.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No I did not listen to this in one setting as I have two or three or sometimes four going on at the same time. I have over 150 new listens as I buy more than I can physically get too. (This was a big mistake on my part, you can’t enjoy a Rachel Gibson book, if you have too much going on, I have found big time.)
Since these are feel good listens, you can go back part of the chapter and the story comes back to you. Many people don't like to have more than 1 story going on at same time but, I sometimes like it. It not for everyone, and after re listening to Sex, Lies, and On Line Dating, I realized I did a very big injustice to this author’s work. I will be re listening to all her stories read by Ms Early as she brings Author’s work to vivid life.

Another great story ruined by the narrator
I'm so tired of this narrator ruining the stories with her terrible pronunciations. why does every word that starts with a 'w' have a whiny whistle. Why would you pronounce music as "mu-zach"?!

Sexist, Misogynistic, MMC
Ish. The first book of the series was entertaining and had a plot, even if it was a little corny (which isn’t a bad thing if that’s what you’re looking for) However this book had next to nothing for a plot. And the male main character/love interest is aweful. So so disrespectful and toxic. Everything he did and said to the MCwas a big red flag. A lot of misogyny, sexism, poor description of body image, and toxic masculinity in this book. I’m still going to give the third one a chance because I did enjoy the first book, hopefully that one goes the other direction.

Nice, but forgettable
This was an “ok” sort of romance. No great drama, no great angst. In fact that was the problem. It was just too real. I read to escape from reality, and this just felt so normal.
The H had commitment issues – don’t they always – but for no real reason. His parents were divorced and he lost touch with his father, but apart from that he had a fairly normal single parent upbringing. The h also came from a broken home and had “issues” with her parents, but again, this was just a bit of light background filler that seemed to really have no impact on the story, or the couple themselves. They were two sensible, well-adjusted, successful and independent characters. She agreed to a “no strings” friends-with-benefits sort of relationship after finding her fiancé having sex with a man, but I could never understand why the H was also so keen to avoid relationships. There was nothing in his background to justify why he was so adamant that he could never be seriously involved with anyone. And he was apparently too oblivious to realise that he was already in a serious, monogamous, relationship with the h, even though he was still determined not to officially acknowledge it.
One thing I did like about the story was that it did not just happen overnight. They lived in different cities and there were large gaps of time spent apart due to jobs and life separating them, however as they were both so comfortable with such long separations it did mean the relationship did not feel promising or exciting. It was just nice. Comfortable. Normal. Boring. I listened to this book with no real feeling of connection to the story, or the couple, or the romance. At the end the h realises she is “in love” and “wants more” and so she tells the H, and dumps him. He leaves in a huff, stews over the issue for a week, then realises that he, also, is “in love” and “wants more” and comes back with the obligatory ring and cute puppy. They lived happily ever after. The End. This book was well written, and well narrated. Unfortunately it was also completely forgettable.

I’m sorry, I can’t! I DNF…
Oh goodness me! This is so tedious! The first book in the series started off interestingly and engagingly, but this is just, plain tedious!
Both main characters are trying too hard to convince us and themselves that they don’t like each other - so much so, that I’ve arrived at chapter 7 and I’m bored out of my mind!!! When is the story going to start? Sigh! I’m sorry, for me it’s just not worth pursuing.
