You lost a tooth, or you are about to. You are going to get offered three things. A partial, a bridge, or an implant. Two of those will have you back in the chair paying again. And if you wait too long, the best option can come off the table completely, not because of anything you did, but because of what happens while you are deciding.
In this video, I am going to rank all three tooth replacement options from worst to best, explain the mechanics behind each one, and tell you the two situations where the "best" option is actually not the right call.

❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED
Q: What is the best way to replace a missing tooth?
A: Dental implants are usually the strongest long term option because they replace the tooth root and keep the jawbone stimulated. Partials and bridges only replace the visible tooth, not the root, so bone loss can continue underneath.
Q: Is a bridge or an implant better for a missing tooth?
A: A bridge requires grinding down two healthy teeth to support a fake tooth in the middle, which can lead to decay and future problems on those anchor teeth. An implant stands on its own and does not touch the teeth next to it, making it the more conservative long term choice in most cases.
Q: Can you wait too long to get a dental implant?
A: Yes. Once a tooth root is gone, the jawbone in that area starts shrinking, and after enough time there may not be enough bone left to safely place an implant. Waiting years on a partial or bridge can quietly take the implant option off the table.
