  • Maya and Peyton on Disrupting the Baking Aisle with Batta
    Oct 20 2026

Today I am joined by the founders of Batta, Maya and Peyton! Maya is the co-founder of Batta, a newly launched all-natural cake mix brand based in NYC. A native of Dallas and Wake Forest graduate, she holds a master's in sustainability from Harvard and has built her career at a leading professional services firm. At Batta, she drives creative vision, brand strategy, and marketing: building a brand that proves clean ingredients and genuine beauty don't have to be mutually exclusive. In her limited free time, Maya loves to bake (a given), run (completing the 2025 NYC Marathon… despite a few injuries), and hang out with her kitten, Squirrel.

Peyton is the co-founder of Batta and leads the behind-the-scenes side of the brand. From finance and legal to operations, she is focused on building the foundation that allows Batta to grow. With a double major in math and business from Washington and Lee University and a six-year career in investment banking and private credit, Peyton brings a practiced analytical mindset to the business and loves figuring out how to turn a great idea into a company that can actually scale and survive. Outside of Batta, Peyton is happiest spending her time outdoors, running, hiking, or finding an excuse to get to a sauna or cold plunge.

In this episode we talked about the idea behind Batta, what it's like launching a CPG brand, coming up with iconic flavor combinations, how to get in stores, and so much more!

  • Starting a Golf Apparel Brand at 14 Years Old with Kate Korngold of Featherie
    Oct 13 2026

Today I am joined by Kate Korngold and her mom, Kristy! A competitive junior golfer from an early age, Kate founded Featherie in 2023 after a simple realization: there was nowhere for girls and women to find golf apparel that was both functional and genuinely beautiful. So she built it herself. Under Kate’s creative direction, Featherie has grown from a junior golf line into a full women’s and girls’ performance apparel brand– with LPGA and MetPGA partnerships, national press coverage, and a devoted community of women discovering golf on their own terms. Kate’s founding story is central to Featherie’s identity: a new generation of women building a seat at the table, on the course and beyond. Kate's mom, Kristy, also joined our conversation!

  • The Story Behind Sage HeadSpa’s Success with Emily Condle
    Sep 22 2026

Today I am joined by Emily Condle! Emily is the Founder and CEO of The Sage HeadSpa — the United States' leading multi-location head spa and scalp health studio, with 10+ locations across seven states and a reputation for redefining what premium scalp care looks like in America.

A licensed clinical esthetician with 13+ years of experience in the beauty and wellness industry, Emily began her career in 2011 in medical aesthetics, spending over a decade working alongside plastic surgeons and dermatologists in high-performance clinical environments. That background — rooted in anatomy, skin science, and results-driven care — became the foundation for everything The Sage HeadSpa stands for.

Emily co-founded The Sage HeadSpa alongside master cosmetologist Desarai Mannelly, combining their complementary expertise to build a brand that treats the scalp not as an afterthought of hair care, but as an extension of the skin — deserving of the same clinical attention, professional standards, and elevated experience.

Her approach is intentional and uncompromising: every treatment protocol at Sage is grounded in real-world clinical knowledge of skin health, scalp conditions, anatomy, and client care — never social media trends, never rushed certifications. Every provider across every Sage location is a licensed esthetician or cosmetologist.

Since launching, Emily has scaled The Sage HeadSpa to a seven-figure business, built proprietary treatment frameworks deployed across all U.S. locations, and developed a professional certification and training program teaching other licensed beauty professionals how to launch and grow their own head spa businesses.

In this episode Emily and I talked about becoming a licensed clinical esthetician, working in aesthetics, where the idea for Sage Headspa came from, how to scale a business, scalp health, and so much more!
