Step into the world of weird and bizarre with me and Mike as we go through a playlist of weird songs! Weird in many ways. We have some out right odd tracks from Swans and Scot Walker and then some songs based more in questionable creative choices from Placebo, Say Anything, Guns N Roses and Avril Lavigne.

Some outright silly foolishness from David Bowie and Pink Floyd and plenty of more sanity questioning songs from various bands and artists!

  • Weak Or Peak: Pink Floyd/ Radiohead
    Mar 25 2025

    Timestamps

2:52 Pink Floyd The Final Cut

45:04 Radiohead The King Of Limbs

    When distance goes too far!

it's near impossible for bands and artists to have a start to end run of amazing albums, there's always going to be a stumble.

Pink Floyd spend the 70s releasing some of rock music's biggest impacting albums, However by the early 80s it seemed like they had ran out of steam and ran out of patience with each other. The Final Cut 1983 is the perfect example of a messy break up and a inability to work together. Years on it's probably Floyd's most unrecognised albums, but does that make it underrated?

Radiohead are well known to push out the boat and have been afraid to step out the comfort zone. Their early work is peak alternative rock, however after the massive success of OK Computer something seemed to snap with Tom Yorke. The band has gone out their way to distance themselves from being know as a 'rock band', Sometimes it lands perfectly with their 2007 album In Rainbows but their follow up album may have pushed the boat out too far?

Join me and Mike as we look at both bands, their careers and backgrounds with each album as we decide if they are Weak or Peak!

  • Disturbed Gave us the Sickness
    Mar 3 2025

Disturbed exploded onto the Nu Metal scene in 2000 with The Sickness, bringing with them ironic hits such as Down with the Sickness, Just Stop, Prayer, Ten Thousand Fists and Inside the Fire. They also gave us an interesting selection of cover songs such as Tears for Fear's Shout, Genesis's Land of Confusion and of course one of their biggest hits... The Sound of Silence.

Selling millions of records, touring the world and being known as one of the heavy hitters to break out the Nu Metal scene in the 90s and 00s Disturbed sit proudly on the mountain of rock....

Me and Mike grew up loving this band.... but as time has gone by the curtain has slipped and we've seen this band's true colours!

So strap in, take some anti sickness meds and prepare for 2 hours of our sanity slip as we journey through the career of Disturbed! WU AH AH AH AH

  • Ep 38A: Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge Reviewed
    Feb 18 2025

It's album recommendation time once again!

My Chemical Romance exploded onto the scene in the early 2000s and caused a huge cultural shift in alternative music and the sub cultures around it. Emo had a massive impact on the world for better and for worse! My Chemical Romance, one of the key figureheads of the Emo movement gained both massive success and heavy criticism. With their second album Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, MCR planted their flag into the world of music. Iconic, visually striking, loud, frantic and exciting their music certainly appealed to teens and young adults.

But over 20 years on hold does Gerard Way's restless singing hold up? Can this album turn Mike into the elder emo he's always been destined to be? Join us into our journey through the hair spray and Nightmare before Christmas Hoodies.

Part 2, Mike's pick will be out Thursday

  • Ep 37: Nevermind Reviewed
    Feb 11 2025

    Classic Albums

Our ongoing series classic albums continues.

Kurt Cobain and his monstrous band Nirvana hit the scene like a wreaking ball on fire, leaving a path of destruction and turning Hair Metal Gods into dinosaurs almost overnight. Grunge swept through the music scene and changed the landscape forever.

Nirvana's second album Nevermind entered the world in 1991 and ever since is has arguably been one of the most influential albums never made......... BUT! How does the album hold up now and can it still be enjoyed long after it's first discovery to us? Me and Tom get deep into the swimming pool but is there much worth in the soggy dollar?
