The Emperor has invited the heirs to each of his loyal Houses to a deadly trial of wits and skill. If Harrowhark succeeds she will be become an immortal, all-powerful servant of the Resurrection, but no necromancer can ascend without their cavalier. Without Gideon’s sword, Harrow will fail, and the Ninth House will die.
Of course, some things are better left dead.

Detto questo mi sono innamorato di tutti i personaggi, nessuno noioso a modo suo, e sempre avrò nel cuore le citazioni migliori di Gideon Nav: "Sapevo che sarei morta così... in una gang bang di scheletri"! Da amare per quel suo tempismo perfetto nel dire la cosa più sincera anche se becera, in mezzo a una manica di intellettualoidi che professano tutto il tempo di riuscire a prevedere qualsiasi cosa, tranne a quanto pare le perle di saggezza di Gideon.
Non mi professo troppo su ambientazioni, stili e costumi sempre per la poca chiarezza che posso avere avuto per via della lingua, ma gli avvenimenti e i dialoghi nn mi hanno mai fatto perdere curiosità e attenzione.
