Lily Jones is thrilled to find herself in the 1950s. She misses her 21st century life but has a blossoming romance with her musician friend Louis and her dream job working on a movie set. The lead actress Kitty Fox is a rising star, yet Lily recalls that after this movie she goes missing, her disappearance an unsolved mystery that barely makes a ripple in Hollywood history. But as Lily begins to understand the brutal studio system of Hollywood in the 1950s, she wonders if there might be something sinister at play behind Kitty's vanishing.

Lily Jones can't forget her incredible time-slip adventure back to the Golden Age of Hollywood and the friends she made there – especially a handsome barman by the name of Louis, with whom she felt such a strong connection. Back in 2020, life isn't going so well, and Lily is idly googling when she is horrified to discover that Evelyn, Louis's ex-girlfriend, was brutally murdered in 1953. Lily is compelled to go back to the 1950s and try to save Evelyn's life, but this time it isn't just the gilded stars of Tinseltown she will have to contend with, but with The Mob.

After an accidental bump to the head, Lily finds herself in Hollywood, 1949. Like a dream come true, she is rubbing shoulders with the great and good of Tinseltown. Including Honey Black. Horrified, Lily realises that the actress has only two weeks left to live before she will be murdered. Could this be why she has found herself in 1949? To find the killer and stop them in their tracks?
