Jack steckte diese Münze schnell in seine Börse, in der sich ein silbernes, kleines Kreuz befand und sich der Teufel somit nicht zurück verwandeln konnte.

Holmes wusste nun, wer der Täter sein musste. Anhand von Inspektor Wolffords Befragungen konnte Holmes schnell einen Zusammenhang herstellen.
