Having represented the UK in both the 2014 and 2018 winter Olympics, she became the first woman to land a double backflip and cab double 900. Recently announcing her retirement from professional snowboarding after 11 years in the sport she has taken her fearless attitude and quick-witted humour over in to the world of broadcasting.

In the very first episode of the a:live podcast, Carly Wilford is joined by the incredible Ed Jackson. After meeting Ed at the side of the DJ booth during one of her gigs, Carly and Ed got talking. He explained that he used to be a rugby player and after an accident in 2017, he was told he would never walk again. Not from a rugby accident but from accidentally jumping in the shallow end of a swimming pool.

That day, Ed’s life changed forever. And whilst for many this could have meant he saw his life was over, in-fact, for Ed and for his family and friends this was the start of a life changing journey. One where he pushed his mind and his body to limits that have defied convention. Not only is he able to now walk again. He climbs mountains.
