"One of the key trends we're seeing is a growing preference for smaller, more intimate beach towns and villages," Wilkins notes. "Travelers are looking to escape the crowds and immerse themselves in the local culture and natural beauty."

The data from 1001beach.com also suggests that sustainability and eco-consciousness are becoming increasingly important factors for beach-bound travelers. "In 2024, we're seeing a 35% increase in bookings for beach destinations with certified 'Blue Flag' status, which indicates the highest standards of water quality, safety, and environmental management," Wilkins says.
