    TITLE:
The Incident Report Conversation: What to Say at Pickup

    DESCRIPTION
It's 5:00 PM, there's an incident report on the counter, and a parent is about to walk in smiling. In this episode, Isa walks you through exactly what to say at pickup when a child got hurt, or when a child hurt someone else. You'll learn what to do before the parent arrives, a simple four-part way to share what happened, and how to answer the question every teacher dreads: "Who did it?" You'll also hear what to say when a parent tells you "He doesn't do that at home," what to do when a parent gets upset no matter how well you handle it, and the ten-second check-in the next morning that builds more trust than anything else. Hard news doesn't have to damage the relationship. Handled well, it can make it stronger.

Biting, Hitting, and Throwing: What to Do in the First 60 Seconds

    DESCRIPTION:

A child gets bitten, hit, or struck by a flying block, and suddenly every eye in the room is on you. In this episode, Isa walks you through exactly what to do in the first 60 seconds: how to stop the behavior with just a few words, who to go to first, what to do with the child who did the hurting, and how to calm the rest of the room. You'll also learn what not to say, how to spot the pattern behind the behavior, and what to do when it happens again five minutes later. You'll leave with a simple five-word roadmap you can use tomorrow: Stop. Support. Settle. Study. Teach.

It doesn't mention the free guide or The Director's Club. If you want those links listed underneath, as in your earlier show notes, I can add that section.

    Title:
Should Teachers Join the Play—or Step Back? Finding the Right Balance

    Description

Should teachers jump into children’s play—or sometimes leave it completely alone? In this episode of The Teacher’s Lounge Podcast, Isa explores what research tells us about the teacher’s role in child-led play and why the answer isn’t simply “join in” or “stay out.” From watching before you enter and helping a child find their way into a group, to adding materials, asking questions, introducing a small challenge, and knowing when to step away, you’ll learn practical ways to support play without taking it over. Because sometimes great teaching means stepping in—and sometimes it means knowing when to step back.

Teaching 50 Years From Now: What Changes—and What Should Never Change?

What will an early childhood classroom look like 50 years from now? In this episode of The Teacher’s Lounge Podcast, Isa looks ahead to a future shaped by artificial intelligence, robots, smart classrooms, new ways of learning, and technology we can barely imagine today. But as technology becomes more powerful, could the role of the early childhood educator become even more important? We’ll imagine classrooms that can transform into forests, technology that supports communication, safety, documentation, and planning, and programs where much of the technology works quietly behind the scenes—while children are given more time to play, explore, socialize, create, get dirty, and simply be children. It’s a fun and thought-provoking look at what may change in early education over the next 50 years—and what should never change.

The Sensory Classroom: Beyond Fidgets, Corners & Calm-Down Tricks

    DESCRIPTION
Sensory-friendly classrooms are about much more than fidgets, sensory bins, and calming corners. In this episode of The Teacher’s Lounge Podcast, Isa explores how the entire classroom experience—from noise, movement, and transitions to curriculum, routines, and teacher responses—can affect how children regulate and engage. We’ll look at how to recognize patterns without labeling behavior, support children who seek or avoid different sensory experiences, use everyday classroom routines as opportunities for movement and regulation, and create calming spaces that support rather than punish. And because teachers have sensory limits too, we’ll also talk about the role adult regulation plays in the classroom. The goal isn’t a perfectly calm classroom—it’s a more intentional one.

You Don’t Need a Forest: Taking Your Curriculum Outside

    DESCRIPTION
Nature-based learning doesn’t require acres of woods, a beautiful outdoor classroom, or even a traditional playground. In this episode of The Teacher’s Lounge Podcast, Isa explores how educators can use the outdoor spaces they already have—from wooded playgrounds to small courtyards and pavement—as meaningful extensions of the classroom. Discover practical ways to follow children’s natural curiosity, turn weather and everyday discoveries into curriculum, bring learning between indoors and outdoors, and use nature to support not only science and exploration, but literacy, art, math, music, movement, and social-emotional development. The goal isn’t to become a forest school—it’s to start seeing the learning opportunities that may already be right outside your classroom door.
