  • Signs of Release: How to Know You're Doing It Right (And When to Move On)
    Oct 22 2026

If you've ever caught yourself moving to the next area before a release actually finished, this one's for you. I talk about the pattern I see so often when I'm mentoring newer practitioners: moving too fast, and leaving tissue half done. We go back to the idea of trading time for pressure, and why sustained contact (not more pressure) is what actually helps fascia let go.

I walk you through what a release looks and feels like while it's happening, the visual cues to watch for, what it feels like under your hands when tissue starts moving on its own, and how to use intuition to know when to stay put versus when to move on. I also get honest about how long it took me to actually trust this in my own practice, why I still don't offer twenty minute appointments, and how 1:1 mentorship can help you build this skill faster with someone in your corner.

    In this episode:

    • [6:00] Trade time for pressure, and why sustained contact matters more than force
    • [10:00] Visual signs a release is happening: twitching, breathing changes, tummy gurgles
    • [14:00] Using intuition to know when to stay versus move on
    • [17:00] Why there's no set timeline, and what completion actually looks like
    • [22:00] Why I don't offer twenty minute appointments
    • [24:00] 1:1 mentorship, virtual and in-person, reach out directly if interested

  • Why a Weekend Course Won't Prepare You for Complex Cases
    Oct 9 2026

If you’ve ever finished a weekend course and wondered whether you’re really ready for the babies who walk through your door, this one’s for you. I talk about why a couple of days of training can teach you techniques, but can’t teach you when to use them, especially when a baby’s nervous system is severely dysregulated, their head is significantly misshapen, or their oral dysfunction is causing real feeding struggles.

I walk you through a real case of a five and a half month old who came to me through a dentist for a tongue tie release, and how it took three sessions and a layered set of skills before I could get to his cranial base. I also explain why our program runs over two to three years, through four levels and into certification, and why I’m still a student myself, with five more courses on my list over the next twelve months. If you’re a parent listening in, I hope this gives you a window into what goes into this work.

You can learn more about the program at www.beamescst.com.

  • Why Airway Starts With Face Shape (And Why Face Shape Starts Before Birth)
    Sep 24 2026

You've probably heard "open airway good, closed airway bad" a hundred times, but this episode takes you way past that. I'm walking you through where a baby's face shape actually comes from and why it matters so much for how they breathe.

We start with genetics, since head and jaw shape run in families, but genetics is only the starting template. From there we get into fetal position, and how something like breech, transverse, or occiput-posterior applies real, sustained force to a baby's skull and face months before birth.

Then we go into the fascia and the tongue's job in all of it, including how birth forces can affect cranial nerves and weaken the tongue's ability to release fascial restriction, which crowds the nasal passages, maxillae, and nasopharynx.

I also dig into why this conversation isn't only about tongue ties. A baby can have a completely unrestricted tongue and still develop a high arch palate if the tongue isn't reaching or pressing on the palate with enough consistency.

By the end, you'll have five signs to watch for on a baby in front of you, from a horizontal crease across the nasal bridge to snorty, congested breathing with no mucus at all, and why that absence of mucus is actually the clue you shouldn't miss.

  • Why Treating the Symptom Isn't Enough (And What "Snap Back" Really Means)
    Sep 10 2026

In this episode, Meaghan shares a story from her clinic about co-treating a baby before a tongue tie release, and why the ease of a neck release her new staff member noticed had almost nothing to do with the neck itself.

She walks through why a cord wrap in utero can pull on abdominal fascia and travel all the way up into the neck and tongue, and introduces the concept of "Snap Back," what happens when a tight neck is treated in isolation and the baby reverts back to the same pattern within a day or two.

Meaghan explains why all fascial lines connect through the suboccipital area, why that makes symptom-only treatment feel like a win in the moment, and what practitioners can do to find the real starting point of a tension pattern before it shows up somewhere else.

She also shares what this means for parents whose baby's improvement didn't hold after treatment, and why that's a sign to look deeper, not a sign that something went wrong.

Plus, Meaghan announces CST Foundations returning in person this fall out of her new office space, a three day, hands-on training for practitioners ready to learn root cause craniosacral work.

  • A Gratitude Episode: Five Years, 100 Episodes, and the Community That Keeps Me Going
    Aug 20 2026

Can you believe it? This is episode 100, and honestly, I've been sitting with that number for a while. Five years of this podcast, releasing every other week because that's the pace that actually works for me, and this year I took the longest break I've ever taken, six months.

So instead of a technique breakdown or a clinical deep dive, I wanted to use this one just to say thank you.

I talk about why I love hearing that someone binged their way through ninety plus episodes in a weekend, or that this podcast is what gave them the push to start learning craniosacral therapy themselves (3:00).

I get into why parents, seasoned practitioners, and total newbies are all listening side by side, and why even the most experienced practitioners tell me they still learn something new every time (6:00).

I open up about how much I learn from my own students, how I tailor what I teach to whoever's in front of me, whether that's an IBCLC or someone walking away from a tech career entirely (11:00).

And I share why I see other practitioners as community, not competition, because we're all working toward the same thing, making those very first years easier for the babies who are living through them (17:00).

It's not always easy to keep showing up like this, and some days it's the easiest thing in the world (22:00).

If you've been circling the idea of stepping into this work yourself, 2027 classes are opening with early bird pricing (25:00).

Thank you for listening, for sharing this with someone who needed it, and for teaching me right back.

Here's to the next hundred. More at www.beamescst.com.

  • A Special Comeback Episode
    Aug 13 2026

After an unexpected hiatus, Meaghan returns to explain exactly why she went quiet, and owns it honestly.

She walks through the renovation reality behind the new clinic, from permit delays to a stretch of running her practice out of her own home office, and why every warning she got about renovations taking longer than expected turned out to be true.

She also opens up about learning to delegate, trusting her growing team, and why pausing to breathe through overwhelm made all the difference during the busiest year of her career.

Plus, an update on the multidisciplinary team now coming together at the new space, and what's next for the podcast and for practitioners considering training.

  • When Fever Brings Back Old Patterns
    Dec 25 2025

If you work with babies and toddlers, you've probably noticed this pattern: a baby you treated weeks or months ago comes back after a bout of illness, and symptoms you thought were resolved have returned.

The torticollis that had improved is back. The reflux has resurfaced. Old tension patterns have reappeared.

This isn't coincidence, and it doesn't mean your original work didn't hold. There are real physiological reasons why illness—particularly illness with fever—can temporarily reactivate old patterns.

In this episode, we explore the connection between fever, the autonomic nervous system, and fascial tension, examining why the body's stress response during illness can bring back holding patterns you'd previously released.

You'll learn about the multiple factors that create this "perfect storm"—from autonomic activation to coughing strain to decreased movement—and understand how to support families through post-illness regression with confidence.

  • Don't Miss the Holiday Season Due to Reflux or Colic
    Dec 12 2025

The holiday season should be magical for new families, but for the parents you work with whose babies struggle with reflux, colic, or constant crying, it can feel devastating.

In this episode, I'm talking to practitioners about what's really happening for these families emotionally—the isolation, the grief of missing out on showing off their baby, and how both parent and baby might still be processing their birth experience.

You'll learn why holiday disruptions hit babies' nervous systems so hard, how car seats and routine changes create physical and emotional dysregulation, and why craniosacral therapy isn't just about releasing tension—it's about helping families process what they've been through so they can move forward together.

If you work with families in the perinatal space, this episode will help you understand what your clients need most during this season and how to support them.

    Episode Timestamps:

    • [3:00] Why holiday disruptions dysregulate babies' nervous systems
    • [8:00] When birth trauma is still replaying for both parent and baby
    • [12:00] How CST helps families process without words
    • [16:00] The isolation parents feel when they can't show off their baby
    • [19:00] Why timing matters: benefits and booking before year-end
    • [22:00] How to refer families for support
