• Sandra, Lindsay, and Christa — Farwell's Demand, Cooper's Promise, Pike's Pain
    Nov 4 2026

Matthew Farwell allegedly demanded Sandra Birchmore re-earn his trust after finding out about his twin brother. Tony Brueski and Robin Dreeke use that demand as the entry point into a conversation that spans Sandra's case, the Lindsay Clancy civil fight, and Christa Pike's failed execution. Prosecutors allege Farwell built a system to conceal Sandra — ordered deleted texts, ran her name through databases, told her to call him her brother. DNA excluded him as the father. Patrick Clancy's lawyer told a judge Lindsay would testify she warned her doctors; Lindsay's lawyer denied it. Two lawsuits against the same providers contradict each other. In Tennessee, the corrections commissioner resigned after Pike survived two doses of pentobarbital. The review has no public deadline. Farwell has pleaded not guilty.

  • Sandra Birchmore's Instructor Had a Letter in His File That Said THIS
    Nov 3 2026

Sandra Birchmore was twelve when she joined the Stoughton Police Explorers in 2010. By then the department had already had its first look at the two men who would become her instructors. As teenagers in the same program, the Farwell twins were caught playing police with a Crown Victoria and a flashing light, and the record says Billy was counseled, by Robert Devine among others, and nothing more. The chief rejected Billy's application in 2011 in a letter that stayed in his file until the day he was hired in 2017.

Matthew was hired in 2012 and sent Sandra a Facebook friend request that fall, when she was fifteen. This episode counts every chance to stop them, through the dispatcher's notes thrown out twelve days before she died and the State Police interview with no notes. Matthew Farwell has pleaded not guilty to killing her. Billy testified under immunity. Devine denies all of it.

  • Sandra Birchmore’s Broken Neck Bone Told Farwell’s Expert THIS
    Nov 3 2026

The bone in Sandra Birchmore’s neck came out of a jar in 2024, after the FBI took over her case, and on November 2nd Matthew Farwell’s lawyers called a woman who studies that bone for a living. Dr. Heather Garvin is a forensic anthropologist from Iowa who saw Sandra’s hyoid only in photographs. She told the jury what a broken hyoid can and can’t show, and the prosecution asked her to find one case like Sandra’s in her own studies. Before her, Dr. William Ralston, Kentucky’s chief medical examiner, described the government’s expert, Dr. William Smock, as someone whose only autopsy work for his office was in the 1980s, as a tech. After her, a forensic science professor from Maine said the photo of the mark on Sandra’s chest was taken with a lens not suited to forensic work. Closings are Friday, November 6th. Farwell faces life if convicted.

  • Sandra's Death Was Suicide, Then Undetermined — Not Homicide. What Now?
    Nov 3 2026

The state medical examiner first called Sandra Birchmore's death a suicide. The ruling was changed to "undetermined" — but not to homicide. Tony Brueski and Robin Dreeke break down whether the defense can drive through that crack. DNA proved Farwell is not the father of Sandra's unborn baby. The defense says no baby means no motive. Prosecutors argue motive turns on belief, not biology — and Sandra's texts show both she and Farwell believed the child was his. No DNA under Sandra's fingernails, no torn clothing, no struggle evidence. Sandra was four foot ten. Farwell is six foot four. The federal charge requires proof he killed her to silence a potential witness. Farwell has pleaded not guilty.

  • Sandra Told Matthew About William. His Answer Was a Demand.
    Nov 3 2026

Sandra Birchmore told Matthew Farwell about his twin brother. Prosecutors allege Farwell's answer was to demand she re-earn his trust — not to confront William, not to leave. Tony Brueski and Robin Dreeke examine the psychology behind the demand and the texts read at trial. Prosecutors say Farwell allegedly told Sandra to delete messages, call him her older brother, and stay hidden. He ran her name through police databases twenty-four times. William testified the twins never discussed Sandra while she was alive. When Sandra's friend called Stoughton PD and named Farwell on January 20, 2021, trial testimony says he told the dispatcher to drop it. Sandra texted Farwell: "Thanks for making me feel like everyone else has. I wish I was never born." Farwell is charged federally with killing Sandra. He has pleaded not guilty.

  • Farwell’s Psychiatrist Studied Sandra Birchmore’s Records and Said This
    Nov 2 2026

Dr. Melissa Piasecki, a forensic psychiatrist from Nevada, took the stand for the defense and told the jury that Sandra Birchmore’s therapy notes, childhood records, and 2017 journal all pointed toward suicide risk she’d carry forever. She read from Sandra’s last therapy note and said Sandra feared something bad would happen and she wouldn’t be found for days. Piasecki called it evidence of suicidal thinking. The therapist who wrote that note and met Sandra the day before she died testified that Sandra was worried about something happening to her inside her apartment and showed no plans to end her own life. On cross, the prosecutor asked Piasecki what she knew about Sandra’s last day. She couldn’t answer. The defense expects to rest by Wednesday. Farwell faces mandatory life if convicted.

  • Sandra Birchmore Case: Farwell’s Note Said WHAT?!
    Nov 1 2026

In the federal trial over Sandra Birchmore's death, prosecutors have discussed a goodbye note Matthew Farwell allegedly wrote on June 24, 2024. It was the day a forensic pathologist's homicide conclusion became public. The note reportedly asked a friend to help raise Farwell's children and care for his wife, and suggested the two would meet “on the other side.” It was originally cited in a fight over his pretrial detention.

That history limits what can be said about it. Prosecutors considered the note relevant to Farwell's possible risk of fleeing, but conceded he did not run. The defense disputes the broader case against him and maintains Birchmore died by suicide. An unusual response to news of an investigation can be discussed without pretending it settles how Birchmore died.

William Farwell, Matthew's twin, testified with immunity that his brother told him about wiping phone data. Prosecutors allege Matthew killed the pregnant Birchmore in her Canton apartment and staged her death in February 2021. He has pleaded not guilty to the federal charges concerning her death and that of her unborn child. The government rested on October 28, 2026, and the defense began presenting evidence.

The other issue is what happens if a jury convicts a former officer. Farwell faces a possible life sentence. Prison officials would have to evaluate threats and housing options, but no placement or specific protective arrangement has been decided. Prior police work can be a relevant security factor; it cannot establish what will happen to an individual inmate.

Defense attorney and former prosecutor Eric Faddis, retired FBI behavioral expert Robin Dreeke, and host Tony Brueski consider both issues: how much weight a jury should give the note and the phone testimony, and how corrections personnel assess a high-profile defendant if a conviction follows. The allegation, the verdict, and the possible sentence are different stages of the case.

  • Sandra Birchmore: Her Examiner Learned WHAT Too Late?!
    Nov 1 2026

Sandra Birchmore’s case moved through two very different accounts of the same death. The first came from police reports describing suicide and no foul play. The second emerged years later as federal investigators reviewed the evidence against former Stoughton officer Matthew Farwell.

At his trial, medical examiner Dr. María del Mar Capó-Martínez testified that her office was never called to Sandra’s apartment and that the police reports did not frame homicide as a possibility. She initially found suicide by hanging. In April 2026, her office changed the manner of death to undetermined and the cause to asphyxia. Prosecutors say the earlier determination was based on an incomplete account. The defense says Sandra died by suicide and disputes the prosecution’s reading of the change.

William Farwell then testified under federal immunity. Matthew’s twin acknowledged he had been intimate with Sandra while on duty as a Stoughton officer, and he said his own relationship with her started in 2018 when she was an adult. Jurors considered a message describing Sandra as 15 when Matthew’s involvement with her began. William also testified about Matthew saying he wiped phone data. Each statement has to be judged for what it actually establishes.

Matthew Farwell has pleaded not guilty to charges alleging he killed Sandra and her unborn child. The jury, not the witnesses or commentators, must determine guilt.

Tony Brueski is joined by Bob Motta, Robin Dreeke, and Shavaun Scott to examine where institutional assumptions collided with later evidence. They discuss why the medical examiner’s information matters, how immunity can shape testimony, and why Sandra’s own history must not disappear beneath the arguments between the prosecution and defense.
