  • Taking control of my anxiety with Lisa - 001

    Anxiety comes in many forms and can debilitating and crippling for those living with it.

    For Lisa, her social anxiety came on in her late teens and flipped her world upside down.

    In her early 30's it became much harder to deal with as the stresses of her job began to take a huge toll on her mental health. It was at this point she knew something had to change for things to get better.

    Changing your normal can be hard but staying in the same miserable place is harder. Lisa shares the steps she took to improve her mental health and how you can too.

  • Your past does not define your future with Kane! - 002
    Apr 13 2021

    Kane has had a life that sounds like something out of a book or movie. He was taken away from his heroin addicted mother at the age of 1½ and put into foster care repeatedly up until his early teens.

    At around the age of 16 Kane was introduced to drugs by his mother. It wasn't long before the dabble spiralled into an addiction spanning 10 years. These years took Kane to some of his lowest points, living either on friends' couches, homeless or with family (until they had had enough of him)

    After having a snap point, Kane made some big changes in his life and overcame his addiction to live a healthier and better life.

    Living with mental health issues can be extremely hard at times but it is even harder if you are doing nothing to improve your mental state.

    There are many, many different things you can do to improve your mental state and making it easier to work with/battle the demons that go on inside your head.

    Do you accept defeat or work even harder to prove them wrong?

    For Troy, hearing these words pushed him to prove the doubters wrong and pursue his dreams.

    Being born with Spina Bifida has brought many challenges for Troy but it's also lead him on a path to inspire people to go after their goals no matter the challenges they face.

    "You can do it, no matter what. Just find a way, no matter what"

    He explains how important having a positive mindset helped, not accepting that this was the end, instead, he was a warrior on the battlefield fighting the fight of a lifetime.

    In the end, Stephen says "this was the best thing that ever happened to me"

    He didn't just survive cancer, he conquered it!
