The Leadership Log is a podcast for curious leaders and those aspiring to make a difference. Through thoughtful conversations with leaders, changemakers and everyday influencers, we explore the ideas, experiences and challenges that shape leadership in practice. From culture and courage to activism, belonging and personal growth, each episode invites us to think differently about what it means to lead. This isn’t a podcast about having all the answers. It’s a space to pause, reflect, get curious and learn from the stories of others. Because leadership isn’t about a title. It’s about the impact we have on the people and systems around us.@leadership_log Economia Gestione e leadership Management
  • The Quiet Advantage: Why influence doesn't have to be loud.
    Jul 9 2026

In our second episode of the summer sessions we are exploring quiet leadership

What if the most influential leader in the room isn't the one doing most of the talking?

In this episode of The Leadership Log, Becky is joined by leadership development specialist Peter to explore the often-overlooked power of quiet leadership.

Together, they challenge the assumption that leadership belongs to the loudest voice and instead consider how influence is built through listening, curiosity, thoughtful questions and creating space for others to contribute.

Drawing on personal experiences, leadership development, psychology and practical examples, this conversation explores how quieter leaders shape teams, build trust and create psychological safety—not through commanding attention, but through intentional presence.

Whether you naturally think out loud or prefer to think before you speak, this episode offers practical insights for every leader.

  • Quiet Courage: from spark to sustained change
    Jun 4 2026

    Hello Intrepid Leaders!

Welcome to the first episode of a new chapter for The Leadership Log.

As the podcast settles into a new rhythm, we're kicking off the first of the Summer Sessions with a conversation about activism, advocacy and the courage to create change.

What comes to mind when you hear the word activism?

For many of us, it's protests, placards and public demonstrations. But activism can also be quieter than that. It can begin with a conversation, a challenge, or a decision not to stay silent.

In this episode, Becky is joined by the lovely Jess Sainsbury for an honest exploration of activism, advocacy and allyship.

Together, they unpack the difference between sparking change and sustaining it, the power of collective voice, the role of social media, and the courage it takes to challenge systems while remaining true to your values.

A thoughtful conversation about leadership, influence and how small acts of courage can create lasting change.

If this episode resonated with you, please share it with your network and tag us in your posts and stories. We love hearing what sparks your curiosity and the conversations that continue long after the episode ends.

  • Speaking Up
    Jun 3 2024
Hello Intrepid Leaders and welcome to another episode of the Leadership Log where we talk about navigating everyday leadership. Joining me in this episode is Helene Donnelly. Helene is a registered nurse with over twenty years experience working in the NHS and Social Care. She raised concerns about the failings at Stafford Hospital (part of Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust) and she was a key witness to the Francis public inquiry that followed in 2010. Helene was awarded an OBE in 2014 for this and she has since pioneered the role of ambassador for cultural change and the concept of Freedom to Speak Up Guardians which is now embedded across NHS and independent sector healthcare organisations I am so thrilled to be have had the opportunity to sit down and have a one on one conversation with the inspirational Helene. I was in awe of her candidness and at times floored by the lived examples she shared that ultimately drove her to be the ‘skunk at the picnic’ Helene brave decision to speak up about care and behaviours she was observing and sometimes experiencing first hand allowed others to feel that they could do the same. Join us as we discuss the potential challenges of speaking up and how, collectively, speaking up in healthcare isn't just about making your voice heard—it's about making a difference.
