  • Episode 8 - Bryce May Wilson
    Jun 2 2021

In Episode 8 of SPSS, I catch up with Bryce May Wilson who runs quality control at one of southern California's most trusted vinyl pressing plants. Bryce has been documenting some of his personal vinyl collection and archival information on his instagram account (@brycemaywilson) for a while and I have come to know many great artists through his thoughtful sharing. Bryce and I talked about some of the technical aspects of his work, his early years in home school, where all the hours of his intent quality control listening may lead him and a bit about his kids. Bryce's attention to detail and his knowledge of recorded music is incredibly valuable. His love of sharing it with others from his unique place in the music industry is a rare joy.

*Shortly after this episode, the world of vinyl pressing plants came to an all-time supply shortage! Most domestic plants are not taking any more orders for the year due to unprecedented demand!! It's bonkers.
