    In July 2023, A'ndre sat down with Billy Thalheimer, Co-Founder and CEO of REGENT, to discuss contested logistics and how REGENT's Seaglider vehicle seeks to address some of these challenges. Billy co-founded REGENT in order to provide zero-emissions, high speed, regional transportation, and we draw on how Billy's own career experiences informed his motivations behind REGENT.  Billy discusses how a seaglider would fit into the concept of 'distributed logistics', and outlines how a seaglider would avoid key threats facing traditional military aircraft, specifically discussing how the 'ground effect' improves survivability.

    This week, A'ndre chats with former PACFLT Commander Admiral Scott Swift (Ret.) on the key challenges facing military logistics in the Indo-Pacific -- drawing on the Admiral's experience operating in that area. Serving as commander between 2015 and 2018, Admiral Swift discusses how PACFLT and the U.S. Navy approached contested logistics in that timeframe, in addition to providing his perceptions on the key, targeted threats the supply chains face. We also talked about the imperative of contingencies if port infrastructure is attacked, who in the Navy have the most impact on logistics, and why we need to utilize existing technologies over new ones in addressing key challenges. Admiral Swift also highlights why the private sector is critical in mobilizing our solutions to contested logistics.

    In this episode, A'ndre chats with Commander Todd Greene (USN), Master Instructor at the U.S. Naval Academy, on his recent capability pitch The Night Train -- an efficient, survivable, inexpensive connector to transport TEU containers, akin to a submersible truck. CDR Greene talks about this unmanned expeditionary logistics concept, and how it aims to address the 'Iron Triangle' of tradeoffs in the contested logistics space. We discuss how we can apply a 'ride-share' model to the Night Train's utilization, and how the designs of shipping containers play to the advantage of the Night Train.
