  • "Sports-Specific" Training is Bullshit
    Apr 22 2026

One of the most common questions I get is: "What are good exercises for X sport?" Or, I get videos sent to me of people claiming certain exercises are Judo/Football/Basketball/etc-specific exercises.

That's bullshit. Exercises are meant to improve a physical attribute, like strength, explosiveness, endurance, capacity. No exercise makes you a better X player. That's done in the field/court/tatami/etc.

  • Training for the Season You’re Actually In (Not the One You Wish You Had)
    Jan 26 2026

We just passed the holidays. Schedules were shredded. Travel, family, parties, late nights, rich food — everything conspired to pull you away from the gym and your “normal” routine.

  • The Recovery Paradox: Why the People Who Need Rest Most Get It Least
    Jan 12 2026

The workout is just the stimulus — the stress that tells your body, “Hey, we need to adapt.”
The magic happens in the recovery phase: muscles rebuild stronger, hormones rebalance, neural pathways strengthen, energy systems upgrade.

Without quality recovery, all that hard work is just accumulated damage. Progress stalls. Fatigue builds. Injuries creep in. Burnout wins.

Yet the people who need recovery the most — busy parents, entrepreneurs, shift workers, anyone over 40, high-achievers who wear stress like a badge — are usually the worst at getting it.

    That’s the Recovery Paradox.
