  • Guarding the King of Pop: Bill Whitfield on Protecting Michael Jackson
    Oct 27 2026

The Peace of Wellness Podcast is pleased to present an interview with Bill Whitfield, a seasoned executive protection professional who built a career working in private security for high-profile clients before receiving an assignment in December 2006 that would change his life. What was supposed to be a brief assignment turned into more than 2 years of protecting the most recognizable entertainer on the planet, Mr. Michael Jackson.

Bill became one of Michael Jackson’s trusted personal bodyguards, gatekeepers, and confidantes, also helping to safeguard his 3 children, Prince, Paris, and Blanket. Bill overcame a number of challenges in order to protect Michael Jackson and his kids from relentless paparazzi and extremely dedicated and/or overzealous fans while assisting in covert movements, decoy vehicles, and disguises, which it sounds like he loved, in order to move safely. Following Michael Jackson’s death, Bill and his fellow colleague, Javon Beard, shared their experiences protecting Michael Jackson in his final days in the book “Remember the Time:”

  • Talkin' with Big T-- An Irreplaceable Chat with My Father
    Oct 7 2026

Happy 2-Year Anniversary to the Peace of Wellness Podcast!!

Naturally, after the smashing success of interviewing Kirsten’s mother, the Peace of Wellness Podcast was destined to feature a conversation with her father, Tom—better known as “Big T.”

The oldest of two boys, Tom was born and raised in Kearney, Nebraska, where he followed in his father’s footsteps and became a corn and soybean farmer. He also raises beef cattle, partly as a hobby and partly to provide his family with their entire year’s supply of beef, year after year (lucky us!!).

Tom graduated from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln with a degree in economics. In his younger years, he was the quarterback of his flag football team and captain of his basketball team—until a torn ACL put an end to his intramural sports career.

A lifelong traveler at heart, Tom has visited all 48 contiguous states, many of them by car. He passed that love of road trips on to his kids, taking them on adventures all across North America—from Yellowstone to Banff, Chicago to the California Redwoods, and plenty of places in between.

But perhaps his greatest accomplishment has nothing to do with farming, traveling, or sports. He’s simply been the best father Kirsten could have ever asked for—and this conversation is a chance to celebrate the man behind the title of “Pops.”
