⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ For our upcoming Tupac Shakur and Nipsey Hussle event in Paris, I could have made everything about OmaxBooks. Instead, I invited different voices from hip-hop culture, including a journalist, a podcaster and even Driver, another publisher translating African-American books into French. On paper, we could call each other competitors. But when the entire category still needs more visibility, maybe fighting for your individual share matters less than making the whole market bigger. In this episode, I explain why sometimes collaboration with your competition can create something none of you could build alone.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Today, people are actually reading our French edition of Rob Kenner’s book about Nipsey Hussle. After months of contracts, translation, corrections, printing, distribution and pre-orders, something has changed: the book is no longer just an OmaxBooks project. Ulule supporters are receiving their copies, events are being announced and filling up, and readers are beginning to create their own relationship with the story. In this episode, I share the strange and beautiful feeling of realizing that eventually, you have to let your work go and allow other people to make it theirs.
