  • Episode 12 - In conversation with Eloise. Midwife with North Bristol Trust
    Feb 22 2024

In conversation with Eloise …who has been a Midwife with North Bristol Trust since 1996.

Throughout her career she has been drawn towards the one-on one care provision within small teams. She has worked in midwife- led units, including stand alone and has been part of three continuity of carer type teams. She considers herself to be a reluctant manager; always happy to lead or inspire with junior staff/students, especially regarding physiological birth but it wasn’t until a continuity team was stood up at her Trust that she stepped up to manage a team as she felt it represented a return to her midwifery roots. Sadly, accepting the post at end of 2019, meant the project was held-back due to the pressures of Covid-19 and the team was eventually disbanded without Eloise feeling that it ever, really fully got off the ground. She joins us today and shares her experiences and wonders what the future holds.
