Lucky 13 Saloon is Brooklyn's only full-time punk, metal, death-rock and alternative bar - and for over 15 years, Jeff Blanchard has been the man keeping it alive.

In Episode 6 of Louie Bee's Underground, Louie sits down with owner and operator Jeff Blanchard at the legendary Lucky 13 Saloon - 644 Sackett St in Gowanus, Brooklyn - to talk about the bar's journey from 13th St in Park Slope to its current home, running a true metal dive in NYC, and what it takes to keep an independent music venue thriving.

Jeff is also the bassist/vocalist for Eyes of the Sun and co-host of the Lucky 13 Podcast, so we go deep on both sides of the bar - behind the bar and on the stage.

In this episode we cover:

• How Lucky 13 became Brooklyn's metal sanctuary
• Moving from Park Slope to Gowanus and rebuilding the scene
• The ghost stories from the original location, horror memorabilia, Go-Go dancers, Scaryoke, and cheap $3 beers
• Booking live metal/punk bands, staying authentic, and surviving NYC nightlife
• Jeff's life as a musician with Eyes of the Sun and bar owner

If you love dive bars, heavy music, and real NYC stories - this one's for you.
