Welcome to our podcast series: Listen and Learn!

The very first episode of this new podcast series raises the topic of women's leadership and entrepreneurship. 

Most of our listeners are women from the Uplifters’ community of Migrant Domestic Workers. Some are amazing peer leaders, either volunteering their precious time off to support the learning journey of our students or organizing broader community events. Others started or are considering starting their own project, be it a business back home or a community initiative in the country they work. Leaders can also be entrepreneurs - and vice versa!

We hope this episode inspires our listeners, boosts their motivation to take action, and clarifies what it takes to be a women entrepreneur.

Charlotte Cotton is our guest for this episode. Charlotte started her social work journey in 2020 when she co-launched a menstrual hygiene project in India while working for a local NGO in Hong Kong. Currently studying in Kanthari, a leadership program for social visionaries in Trivandrum, South India, she is launching a new social project called Propolis, a communication tool fighting against social taboos in society.

She is sharing her tips and tricks on her entrepreneurial journey, her own definition of success, and the importance of planning skills and self-awareness when it comes to overcoming tough times. Listen to her and get ready to take action!
