For decades young and old have played in garage bands, rap groups, pop acts and more. Very few of these artists went on to be the next Nirvana, N.W.A. or Destiny's Child, but many of these songwriters and producers were great, and many recorded their work before they moved on to other bands, careers, grew tired of the process or developed other interests.


This podcast is on hold due to a law change in the EU and the possibility of copyrighted material being submitted in error. Thank you to Røde microphones for awarding a highly commended prize to Disbandoned in the 2021 MyRodeCast competition.

    The Synthetic Sound

    In the late 1990's and early 2000's, Martin Elmore performed, wrote and produced in a couple of bands, after these groups ended he went on to produce an album called Digital Hiss under the name The Synthetic Sound, and then he stopped. Over 15 years later, with his musical aspirations now a memory, he reflects as we listen to some of those tracks.


    The whole album is available to listen to now on Spotify and Apple Music


    Sadly the podcast is on hold, a law change in the EU and no guarantee that copyrighted content isn’t submitted has forced my hand. It’s a great idea though and won a highly commended prize in the 2021 MyRodeCast competition, which my wife is very proud of.
