    Rima Fawaz El Husseini holds an M.A in Political Science from the American University of Beirut and a Law Degree from The Lebanese University, and a DESS/Master in International Contracts from Holy-Spirit University in partnership with the Faculty of Law in University of Montpellier. She has been working in the legal and political field since 1984, and teaches Conflict Resolution and Human Rights, at the Lebanese American University, Beirut. Ms. El Husseini, as an expert on Gender and Development, has translated several books on Gender into Arabic, for the purpose of intercultural accuracy in the translation of concepts involved in development. In this episode, we will talk about her career in culture and conflict, and her thoughts on what it means to change the narrative of what it means to be a woman in the region. She has worked as a civil engineer, a program officer at USAID, a TV production Manager at Al Mada Establishment, a Reporter at Mawtani electronic newspaper, a Field Monitor at USAID, a Project Manager of "PEACE AND STABILIZATION OPERATIONS PROGRAM IN NINEVEH AND ANBAR" and as a Project Manager of a number of projects which were granted to Burj Babel for Media Development. She is also the script writer of a number of documentaries produced by Al Mada and Burj Babel and has participated in a number of International Painting symposiums.     Rana Sweis is the founder and managing director of Wishbox Media, a company that provides creative storytelling packages, media training and research briefs on the Middle East. She is also the author of Voices of Jordan, a book published in 2018 that tells the story of a nation through the eyes of its people. As a freelance journalist, her work continues to mainly be published in the New York Times and covers the Syrian refugee crisis, Jordanian political reform, extremism and regional developments. She holds an MA from the Graduate School of Political Management at George Washington University and a BA in Journalism from Hofstra University.     Verena Al Amin is the founder of a student movement called “Taleb”, which is working towards a better Lebanon based on equity and a secular state. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the USJ Beirut and getting her masters from Sorbonne Paris, she is a registered lawyer at the Beirut Bar Association and a legal consultant and researcher for many national and international public policy agencies. She previously was a political journalist at Annahar, Al Modon and many others news outlets and ran in the 2022 Lebanese parliamentary elections as the youngest candidate.
