  • (Replay) Stuck at the Same Revenue Level? Track This First
    Oct 20 2026

If your advisory firm has reached a revenue plateau, the next step may not be another tactic. In this replay, Nick Davies helps financial advisors look at the patterns and assumptions that keep them on autopilot, then get specific about what is actually limiting growth. He makes the case for starting with the owner’s own capacity, measuring how many client and prospect meetings are really happening, and checking whether the team understands its role in booking them. Rather than tracking everything or relying on a familiar routine, advisors can use a clear revenue goal and a few useful measures to see where the constraint is and decide how to create more room for sustainable growth.

  • (Replay) One Simple Rule for More Reliable Client Follow Up
    Sep 29 2026

Ever finish a full day of client meetings, get home, and suddenly remember someone you meant to call? That nagging feeling is exactly what Nick Davies tackles in this replay of No Drop System. Nick walks through a simple way to keep client and prospect follow ups from slipping through the cracks: give every active relationship a future action date. Starting with a spreadsheet, he explains how to define your service commitments, agree on a meeting cadence with clients, and give your team a clear way to see who needs attention each day. He also gets into advisor capacity, why keeping small promises builds trust, and how to teach the thinking behind the process before moving it into your CRM. If you’re building a seven figure practice but still carrying the follow up list in your head, this episode offers a practical place to start handing that responsibility to your team, so you can be more present with clients and leave less unfinished business on your mind at home.

    Chapters:

    • (00:00:00) Building Client Trust Through Follow Through
    • (00:01:00) Why Financial Advisors Need a No Drop System
    • (00:02:00) Set a Future Follow Up Date for Every Relationship

  • Stop Chasing 20 Percent Growth and Change the Game Instead
    Sep 22 2026

This episode pulls together a handful of advisor stories from earlier recordings, and the same thread runs through every one of them: the advisors who actually break through stop managing a practice and start running a business. Nick starts with producer groups, why firms push advisors toward them, and the friction that shows up when everyone holds an equal vote but sits at a completely different stage of growth. He makes the case for treating the group itself as an entity with its own vision and its own retained capital instead of a pool that gets paid out every year. From there he shares the advisor who used a family vacation as a hard deadline to run a focused sprint in the business, and why a real commitment with a date attached beats an open calendar every time. He compares it to a 10 meter headstart in a 100 meter race, because the goal is leverage, not more effort. The back half gets into the vision work most advisors quietly avoid, the difference between a vision and a mission, and why it is nearly impossible to pick your next move when you have never named the destination. Nick closes with the hire that changes everything at the next level, a hub in the business, a chief of staff or director of operations who does more than complete tasks. That person thinks strategy with you, holds you to follow through, and protects the hours only you can spend.

    Chapters:

    • (00:00:00) High level advisors think business, not practice
    • (00:00:45) Why firms push producer groups and why one plus one equals three
    • (00:01:30) The friction nobody plans for: equal votes, different stages
    • (00:02:10) What to actually do with the aggregate bonus
    • (00:02:45) Grow the producer group as its own entity
    • (00:03:10) Borrow a deadline: the sprint sabbatical
    • (00:04:10) Why a public commitment gets the work done
    • (00:05:00) The 10 meter headstart in a 100 meter race
    • (00:06:00) Vision versus mission, and why vision work feels so heavy

  • You Do Not Need A Better Plan. You Need A Destination.
    Sep 15 2026

Most advisors know they are supposed to have a vision, and almost nobody does the work, because vision feels important without ever feeling urgent. In this solo episode Nick Davies takes that head on and hands you the framework he uses with coaching clients: pick a date exactly three years out, down to the actual day, then write the story of what that single day looks like in enough detail that you can feel it. What time you wake up, whether it is light outside, the house you are in, how the morning with your family goes, and only then what the business looks like. Nick explains why the biggest mistake is starting from what you think you can realistically reach, because that ceiling quietly becomes your plan, and why you instead start with what you want most and work backward into a year, a quarter, a week, and a day. He uses a simple travel analogy to show the cost of a vague destination: two people can both head for California and still end up hundreds of miles apart. He also shows how the vision doubles as a filter, sharing the moment a client named a new staff hire as the top priority when the stated goal for the year was new client revenue. And he makes the case that this is not only a business exercise but a life one, with a quiet reminder from his own morning that the point of building a seven figure practice is to actually live inside the day you designed. If you have been treating vision as soft work, this one reframes it as the first real piece of planning you do.

    Chapters:

    • (00:00:00) Start With The End In Mind, Not What You Think You Can Reach
    • (00:00:40) Why Vision Is The Hardest Work For Financial Advisors
    • (00:01:05) The California Analogy: What A Vague Destination Really Costs
    • (00:02:10) The Best Vision Framework Is The One You Will Actually Use
    • (00:02:50) Why Three Years Out, To The Exact Day
    • (00:03:20) Write The Story, Not The Revenue Target
    • (00:03:55) The Ceiling Problem: Planning From What Feels Realistic
    • (00:04:20) Look Back At What You Once Thought Was Impossible
    • (00:05:05) Working Backward Into Yearly, Quarterly, Weekly, And Daily Goals
