Sintesi dell'editore

The game is over...there’s nowhere to hide.

When Lenchester’s most famous sportsman is shot dead, DCI Whitney Walker and her team are thrown into the world of snooker. She calls on forensic psychologist Dr. Georgina Cavendish to assist, but the investigation takes them in a direction that has far-reaching international ramifications.

Much to Whitney’s annoyance, an officer from one of the Met's special squads is sent to assist. But as everyone knows...three’s a crowd.

It's over.

Seems like Sally Rigby just got tired of Cavendish and Walker and went through the motions with this story. It just abruptly ended; kind of lazily. Not much mystery here and never really explains why victim was chosen except the weak excuse of "collateral damage". What a shame, I really enjoyed the series and expected more from the "final installment."

LAME

I want to express how disappointing this was. Hard to believe it was written by Sally Rigby whose previous stories in this series were.
Her previous one's led you to believe the clues pointed to a particular person only to have the story take a unexpected twist. This book has none of this!
No surprises, anyone could tell you who committed the murder. Same old "scorned wife did it".

Sally Rigby wtf?!

This was the worse book. The storyline was not interesting at all. Very predictably and a lot of fluff in it. I’m not sure about her new character series because this book was such a let down. I’m upset I wasted a credit on it.

Not so good .. disappointed yet again

I loved this series but with this and the previous 2 books, i feel Ms Rigby has really dropped the ball. The story started well, I was waiting for the build up but it just never happened and then all of a sudden ... "and the killer is" ... I actually went back on the story to see if I missed a chapter but nope I did not. I guess if you weren't familiar with her early books you'd enjoy this one story but for me it wasn't up to standard. Great narration though

Very entertaining...

So glad that a new character has been introduced to this series as it was getting a bit repetitive. Still enjoy the plots and banter between Cavendiah and Walker, and happy that they are not as rude to each other as in the previous books (that was really getting old).

Very enjoyable

This was one of my favorites in the series. I really liked the different theme than usual and the character development up to this point has been a lot of fun. I will definitely be reading the next one as well as the spinoff series.

Brilliant as always

Claire Corbett is a fantastic narrator and as is Sally Rigby as an author. The characters, there relationships and knowledge she has to know in order to make these books as good as they are is remarkable. I think these are a brilliant combination and I love every minute of listening to these books while drawing. There are a few key details repeated in each book that I have seen people discredit the book for doing so, but i do not believe there is anything wrong with a refresher of details, not for me anyways.

Not my favourite of the series

I’ve loved all of the books in the series so far,
This one was ok, but not my cup of tea, I didn’t feel interested in any of the characters, except Whitney, her team and George.
I think I prefer serial killer books lol.

Loving the new style

I’m glad Sally started mixing things up and deviating from the usual formula. I’m loving these. I’ve listened to all the first 9 In about three weeks. Can’t stop listening.

*Revenge*

This instalment picks up from where DCI Whitney Walker & forensic psychologist Dr. Georgina Cavendish (Aka George) were flabbergasted by Whitney’s daughter Tiffany’s revelation. Whitney is disappointed because Whitney had high hopes for her. Whitney also had a news of her own re Tiffany’s Father who for all her life was unknown to her.

While in the Police world a famous & popular snooker player Ryan Armstrong who is loved by everyone is found dead in his car, he has been shot.

On the surface as they dig into the case all roads point to his business partner Scott Marshall. He is also a professional snooker player but not as good as Ryan, the trouble is he has no alibi. He is not as well liked or popular as Ryan is and he may have a jealousy motive plus he is a serial philanderer. At present although married he is having an affair with the victim’s wife. Scot feels he is always careful about being found out but unbeknownst to him someone knows his secret.

Because of the murder Whitney has to pair up with an inspector from another force Di Seb Clifford from the Metropolitan Police force, who is dealing with match fixing and he feels the murder may be related to his forces investigation.

Their trusty forensic Pathologist Claire Dexter can always be relied on to be abrupt and wear the most outlandish outfits. On this occasion she is wearing a pink & white striped dress, bright orange tights, royal blue lace up shoes and just to be different she adds a black jacket for the sole purpose of having a meeting 🤭🤭🤭

As the case progresses we find out the lengths a person will go to get revenge and sadly the victim is collateral damage. There is also has a cliffhanger ending for Di Seb Clifford

This case lent on more about the personal lives of Whitney & George than any of the other books, but still very enjoyable.
