Sintesi dell'editore

Matthew is the first human wizard to possess the true heritage of the Illeniels, a secret gift no one fully understands. Alone, he travels to another world, seeking the source of their mysterious enemies. There he will discover the origin of their ancient foe, the mysteries of the past, and possibly the future of humankind.

If he can survive long enough.

In a land beyond death and suffering, he finds the true source of evil, within the heart of humanity, and their newest creation. In the search for knowledge, some doors, once opened, can never be closed.

Fun book, but gets a little weak towards the end

It was pretty strong as this sort of thing goes, but got pretty cliched as the end approached. It's like they ran our of creative juice, so it ended sort of blah. For all that, It was fun to read and at least for the first half, pretty creative.

put some effort into this so do give it a glance..

Love this author, never ceases to satisfy my craving for a good story.
this one melded the tasty medieval world of mordecai's family with a world such as ours, well closer anyways. it's really interesting to see the story develop. Matthew from Ilenial and his blossoming friendship (or is it love?) with Karen from a future version of "Earth" where everyone is uploaded into the net, few with actual physical bodies of flesh. I'm excited for more from "Matthew" as he grows to his adulthood. I am interested to hear how these changes occur, making him the force of reckoning surely he must hold the potential to be.

Just As Good As The First Book!

Kept me engaged and filled with many surprises. With books of this nature, one can usually guess what will happen next with close accuracy. However, there were many twists and turns I didn't see coming. My ONLY peeve, and a small one at that, is in how the narrator pronounced Cyan's (sp?) name differently in this book than he did in Book 1. In Book 1, he pronounced it "kī-yan". In this book; however, he pronounced it "sī-yan". He is an important character (at least in my opinion) and it was something that would cause me a slight, inward groan. Other than that, it was written and narrated beautifully. I can hardly wait to begin Book 3!!

A boy and his dragon

This episode focuses on Matthew, Mordecai's eldest son, who had gone missing in the last episode while looking for Mordecai. The primary magic theme involves his ability to move to multiverse worlds but with an interesting twist of doing so in a faux-like time travel method. The plot focuses on being confronted with a highly technically advanced earth world almost drained of magic and his highly magic-oriented upbringing and the difficulties in adjusting to this new reality. There is also a romantic element with an interesting, yet oddly, realistic outcome.

Derek Perkins performance continues to be quite good.

My biggest disappointment was the lack of introspection by him that explored the dire consequences of his decision on traveling to this world.

Even so, it was a excellent addition to the Mageborn series and I look forward to the next episode.
