Sintesi dell'editore
The companion volume to 12 Rules for Life offers further guidance on the perilous path of modern life.
In 12 Rules for Life, clinical psychologist and celebrated professor at Harvard and the University of Toronto Dr. Jordan B. Peterson helped millions impose order on the chaos of their lives. Now, in this bold sequel, Peterson delivers 12 more lifesaving principles for resisting the exhausting toll that our desire to order the world inevitably takes.
In a time when the human will increasingly imposes itself over every sphere of life - from our social structures to our emotional states - Peterson warns that too much security is dangerous. What’s more, he offers strategies for overcoming the cultural, scientific, and psychological forces causing us to tend toward tyranny, and teaches us how to rely instead on our instinct to find meaning and purpose, even - and especially - when we find ourselves powerless.
While chaos, in excess, threatens us with instability and anxiety, unchecked order can petrify us into submission. Beyond Order provides a call to balance these two fundamental principles of reality itself and guides us along the straight and narrow path that divides them.

Amazing
Love him or hate him, he's one damn smart man. My hope is that more people my age (20-35) would read and try to understand the work of Dr. Peterson. I see so many young adults that have drank the "Woke" cool-aid and have suffered immensely because of it.

This man helped me save the amazing life I have!
When I first read 12 rules for life, it helped me find my true self. This follow-up is just as good, if not better, than 12 rules. This man has done more for me than I can even describe accurately. He helped me realize that I was a narcissistic, deceptive person and helped me change that part of myself. Had I not been lucky enough to see Dr. Peterson's videos on YouTube, I would likely be divorced, and who knows what kind of financial troubles I would find myself in. I am so grateful that he could penetrate through my selfish, childish, stubbornness of thinking I knew everything and helped me realize that I like to learn and need to keep doing so. If I could, I would like to say thank you to Dr. Jordan B. Peterson. You saved my life, and I am forever grateful Doc. Keep up the fantastic, influential, and intellectual pious that you spread and make completely comprehensible! May you find peace and joy in knowing that you have at least saved my life, and I am sure countless others. Thank you again, Dr. Peterson.
Sincerely,
Dakota Morrow

Growing up
This is the account of someone growing up, if his first book was the concept of a perfect life. This book is the reality of achieving the first books rules and how to apply them in the real world. This book oozes that of a wise person, not a a hopeful one

Thank you Dr. Peterson
I can’t thank this man enough. I’ve read his ”12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos“ 3 times now, and each rereading provides new insight. I used to believe that a certain amount of (white) lying, scheming, and manipulating was necessary to go about living. My step father adopted and preached the philosophy “lie til u die“ and he did just that. His life was built on the sandcastles of lies. And they all came out after his death last August, after his fog evaporated. I wasn’t the strongest person at his funeral, but I was coherent and able enough to provide a shoulder for my mom and halfbrother to cry and or lean on.
We didn’t have a close relationship at the end of his life because of his alcoholism, and his tendency to become cruel after drinking. I still treated him with dignity when o did see him though. And I hugged him and told him I loved him everytime I did see him. Because of this when he passed I felt no guilt whatsoever, despite not having been around him that much.
Im eternally grateful for Jordan Peterson. He has changed so many lives, mine, my brothers, and my best friend’s among them.
Im also eternally grateful that Mikhalia Peterson, for rescuing her father from the underworld.

Excessive sadness and regret
This rumination surpasses what is healthy. Clearly he suffered, was unfairly picked on, and therefore he understands suffering. He explores memories where somebody hurt his feelings or when individuals misinterpreted him, but he handles it as if he'd spent years in solitary for crimes he didn't commit.
This level of rumination might lead to obsessive disorders or might cure them. I want to tell him to pull out of it at some nearby point, pull out of it man. It's suspenseful that way. Everything he says is brilliant, it's just that he makes each thing so time consuming and plodding.
"Beyond Order" is extra deep compared to "12 Rules for LIfe." If you limit your exposure in terms of duration and frequency, you'll find solace. Yet because of his excellent narration, you're more likely to overexpose. You may be better off to pass on this one. That's my recommendation for most individuals.
And yet... I'm already drawn to the book again, beginning from the top. If you manage it correctly, you get a foundation for life so that you won't be knocked off course by false theories and all the noise. Even so, I don't think the average person will make it through without danger which is why, for now, I haven't rated it as highly as it may deserve.

A sadly desperate man desperately searching
I have great respect for JBP. His first 12 rules book was classic, and indeed everything JBP has been through has elevated him even more. However, this "beyond" is clearly "beyond" JBP's ability to comprehend. The first 12 rules illuminated parts of the human soul that have been abused in modern society to the point where a majority of us are now socially dysfunctional and need his earthly wisdom.
This book attempts to go beyond with some additional rules that try to explain the spiritual realm. Not all point though- several points are just more points in the attitude of the first 12 rules. Those points that try to comprehend the spiritual, eternal world miss the mark so horribly that I truly feel sorry for JBP. Sorry because he is so close to the truth, but will never get there without first knowing his Creator, Savior and Truth Illuminator. Listen carefully- JBP uses the term "eternal" many times in the wrong context, limiting the word to mere mortal supposed evolutionary eons.
Blinded by his own flavor of ideology through "dualism" (yin/yang, chaos/order, male/female, light/dark), JBP never asks the real question of life: can order ever be created by any source other than infinite intelligence? This proof for God is so obvious that those stuck with their eyes down miss it every time.
I give JBP credit for acknowledging that the highest quality earthly wisdom is found in the Bible, but unfortunately JBP has merely "stolen" eternal truth from the living, eternal God with offering God credit for being God. Likewise, JBP continually expounds on Scripture offering only "types", "allegories", "symbolism" and "speculation" in place of plain direct Truth from God. This actually puts JBP at risk of a more severe judgement as a false teacher.
I actually was tired out by the dozens of times JBP turned to Egyptian, Roman, Greek and Sumerian mythology for meaning; over and over again he tried to squeeze meaning from modern fictional writers, fairy tales and Disney movies. For someone so hungry for meaning in life, Jesus Christ stands ready to set everyone free who comes to Him, including JBP.
