Sataou wasn't chasing glory. He had a sharp mind, a relaxed spirit, and a place in the Shengu Sect—earned more through quiet dedication than burning ambition. His cultivation was anything but simple: his Void affinity demanded emotional control, even as the world around him refused to let him remain whole. And when that balance is broken, what remains loses what makes it human. The Void is endless. The Void is absence. The Void is all. The Void does not forgive.

Sataou, still reeling from his losses and devastated by his future, continues on. He is determined to bring the Shengu Sect to its knees and rid the area of their influence once and for all—for his loved ones and those being oppressed by their machinations. The power within him grows in strength, however, and he finds himself needing to decide whether to stay true to who he is or to simply allow himself to change, becoming what the Void wishes for him to be. The world around him loses some color, but his abilities increase—and he will need every bit of help he can get in the fights to come.

With his work at the Shengu Sect complete, Sataou finds himself thrust into the unknown by powers as mysterious as they are dangerous. Meanwhile, a parting gift provides him with new abilities—and new challenges—as he learns more about who he is and what he is becoming.
