Young treasure hunter Fish--nicknamed for his swimming abilities—learns that his refusal to fight has a cost when he's torn away from his pirate family. Fish—nicknamed for his skill as a swimmer—never intended to become a pirate. For starters, he absolutely hates to fight. But while working as a courier, Fish has a mysterious package stolen. To get it back, he joins up with a ship of scalawags on a quest for a legendary treasure. Now swabbing the deck of the Scurvy Mistress, Fish will have to earn the trust of the fortune-obsessed pirate captain and learn the ropes from the rest of the crew, including Daniel, a boy encyclopedia on all things piracy; Nate, a tough-as-nails young thief; and Nora, a fearless girl with knives up her sleeves.
