It started the moment I woke up in hospital; I naively believed I would find myself alone. I was wrong, because the HellBeast King wasn’t done with me. But as my fate started to unravel, revealing more and more pieces of him at the core, I couldn’t help but question: was his vow to keep me safe, or was it simply a HellBeast’s fight to keep me?

The day I snuck into the infamous Devil’s Ring Fight Club. I had followed my cousin Amelia, who turned out not to be quite as innocent as I first believed. In fact, it turned out she didn’t live in the same world as I did…Not at all. I knew this the moment I entered his kingdom. My world changed the moment he found me. He gave me a warning that night. He told me if he ever found me again then next time, he wouldn’t be so quick in letting me escape him. His little Red Riding Hood. It was a threat I took seriously as it was only my dreams that took me back to that place.

Hello, my name is Vanessa. No, I don't have a drinking problem, and nor is this my opening line for an AA meeting. No, what I did do, though, was witness a murder. A very gruesome murder. A mafia murder. Because clearly, I don't do things by halves. Which means I am now being hunted. I tried to remember. I wanted to remember. Moving on from an unknown past was all that was left for me to do. So, I went home. I went back to my safe, boring life. Just a girl and her dog. Well, that was until an angry HellBeast King turned up and found me. A furious, sexy, hotblooded male from my past who now wants to convince me... He is my future. He is my everything. The problem is, he still terrifies me. What I soon realize is he isn't the only scary thing out there in my woods. He also isn't the only one who wants me.

It had to be said that I didn't much care for the Devil. Especially when he tried to use me to control the Beast. But this was his mistake. As such, I had been granted early release, and as for the Beast… he was not happy. So now Hell had a problem. A big one. One named Abaddon who was currently tearing Hell apart trying to find me. Which meant I now had a choice to make. Let the Beast destroy all the realms or find myself a date.

I tried to run. I tried to hide. But look where it got me: captured and held firmly in the grasp of my HellBeast King. One still intent on completing the claim he feels he has on me. Which I knew meant only one thing: making me his—in every single way. By claiming my heart, then my blood, and now the very last thing left of me to give… He wants my body. But after having my heart trampled on, and after I had been willing to hand it over freely... Will I now finally accept what he calls my fate?

Hell. Just do your time, they said. It will be easy, they said. What's a hundred years sentenced to prison in Hell? Well, I can tell you, for an Imp like me, it was a pretty long time. Like most Imps, I am a mischievous sort, and that tends to annoy people, said people like the prison guards. Which meant that my time in Hell had just gotten a lot more complicated. I was about to receive the type of punishment no living soul had ever come back from. Not a single one had ever survived.

I tried to hide from the truth and that didn’t work. I tried to run from him and that definitely didn’t work. What was next for me but to try and work off my punishment? One that ended with me sacrificing my own heart the second his Lost Siren finally walked into his life; the one I found for him. I took this as my cue to leave. My cue to run and never look back. That had been the plan and he made a promise to let me go. A promise he quickly broke.

Writing down your dreams…that sounded pretty harmless right? Turned out, I was sort of good at it. Turned out, it made a good book. Because who knew you could make money from writing about the man of your dreams? Who knew it would pay to fantasize about a fictional character you had fallen in love with. But most of all, who knew that one day, a set of doors would open, and you would find out that he wasn't fictional at all...that he was real.

It started as a HellBeast’s mistake that ended in me making my own. Now I am paying for it; now I am running from it. I am soon to discover how foolish that was, because you can't run from the HellBeast King, not when he still wants you. Not when that King isn’t ready to let you go. So now I am being hunted, and soon he will find me...I know this.

Well, it seemed as my days as a data analyst were long behind me, it seemed feeding random people’s cats and baking cookies for work colleagues was too. What wasn’t behind me, however, was getting snatched by the mob or finding myself tied to yet another chair. But this time the mob had made a big mistake, because this time they weren't the scariest ones out there. No, but I knew who was. The one who had claimed me. The one who wanted me back. The one who was now out for blood. A Siren’s Enforcer.

I was just a data analyst. I paid my taxes on time. I used to feed a cat that wasn’t my own and bake cookies for the office. I was a good girl. How was my reward finding myself penniless, broken down and stuck on the side of the road with everything I owned piled in the back, and all because I was being chased by the Mob? But then again, I must have had some luck left or he wouldn’t have stopped.
