Victor Frankenstein is a talented scientist who creates what he sometimes refers to as a monster. The monster is a large creature made from human parts and comes to life, but feels rejected by his creator Victor, as well as most of the people with whom he comes in contact with. He winds up killing certain people in Victor's circle of family and friends, so Victor eventually pursues the monster to kill him.

Hank Morgan is a man from 19th-century Connecticut who, after having a head injury, wakes to find himself 1300 years in the past in the court of King Arthur of medieval England. The people of the time notice that he is strange yet knowledgeable, but due to his odd clothing and language, is sentenced to death but avoids it by knowing of a coming eclipse and tricking the nobility into thinking he himself blotted out the sun. King Arthur elevates Hank to a ministerial position and Hank goes about trying to reeducate the people.

A man is held prisoner for most of his life and is forced to wear a mask. There is much mystery surrounding the reason for the mask, but a likely reason is that the prisoner's true identity would threaten the reigning French King Louis XIV. This novel is thought to have some basis in fact, but as the situation was such a mystery at the time it is hard to speculate on what aspects of the current story might be accurate.

A man dressed in a long coat with bandages covering his face arrives in a small village and does not engage much in conversation. While striving to maintain his privacy, he receives what he calls his luggage, yet in reality is chemicals and laboratory supplies, thereby furthering the mystery around himself. Eventually, he reveals his name to be Griffin and later runs into Mr. Kemp, a former student from medical school. Griffin creates a diabolical plan after recounting to Kemp how he is able to create invisibility.

David Balfour discovers that his uncle is not the oldest son but that his father was actually the eldest and that he then is the rightful heir of his father's estate. His uncle is miserly and deceitful and after failing to have David fall off an unfinished staircase, he then arranges to have him kidnapped. David has a long and treacherous voyage on the boat he was taken by. After crashing upon an island, he survives and ultimately makes his way back to his uncle's house.

Initially Henry runs from the fight but is later consumed with shame and wishes to be wounded. After learning of a new rail line in India, Phileas Fogg wagers a bet that he can travel the world in 80 days. He takes off on this journey with Monsieur Passepartout. They are followed by an inspector aboard a ship and beyond. The rail line in India ends earlier than was reported so they hire an elephant for the 50-mile gap during which they rescue a young women even though it slows them down. They encounter many exciting and frustrating events in far flung cities around the world.

Silas Marner, a weaver, is a good man but he is mistaken for a thief who stole donations at his church. He moves to the city and begins his new life weaving and saving gold which is then stolen. A forlorn child comes into his life and his life improves dramatically after suffering much sadness and loneliness.

This audiobook is about a lieutenant in the US Navy who renounces his loyalty in front of a judge and is sentenced to live out his years on naval ships and to never be informed about his country again since he said he never wants to hear about it in front of the judge. This becomes extremely difficult for him, and he ultimately becomes very patriotic.
