"Le livre de Michée" est un livre de l'Ancien Testament. Le prophète juif Michée a été chargé par Dieu de rétablir la paix et la justice en Israël. Il est précisé que le Messie naîtra à Bethléem. Dans le livre, le Seigneur consulte son peuple et lui rappelle sa bonté passée à son égard ; il exige de lui la justice, la miséricorde et l'humilité. D'après le titre de son livre, Michée a exercé son ministère sous les trois rois de Juda, Jotham, Achaz et Ezéchias (857-494 av. J.-C.).

"L'Ecclésiaste" (traduction grecque de l'hébreu Qohelet, "celui qui s'adresse à la foule") est un livre de la Bible. Considéré comme une sorte de portrait autobiographique, ce livre est rédigé par un auteur qui se présente en tant que "Qohelet", fils de David, et ancien roi d'Israël à Jérusalem. La fin du livre lui attribue également la rédaction de Proverbes.

Il nome del libro, con la ripetizione della parola "cantico", secondo il modo di costruire le frasi degli antichi ebrei, è da considerarsi come un superlativo e andrebbe reso come "il più sublime tra i cantici". "Il Cantico dei cantici" è un testo laico derivato e copiato da alcuni poemi della Mesopotamia. È un canto nuziale entrato nel canone biblico "a furor di popolo". La parola "Dio" non è mai menzionata. Viene conosciuto anche come Cantico di Salomone, poiché se ne attribuisce la paternità all'antico re di Israele del X secolo a.C., Salomone.
