La rivoluzione americana, a lungo giudicata una non-rivoluzione rispetto a quelle francese e sovietica oppure, oltreatlantico, la vera realizzazione della libertà, viene oggi studiata come un evento complesso e discordante percorso da conflitti sociali ed etnici, nonché una guerra civile e una interna al continuo scontro fra gli imperi europei.
