  • Repentance Part 3 - The Relationship of Repentance to Forgiveness - Zane C. Hodges
    Oct 27 2026

In this final video on the relationship of repentance to forgiveness, Zane Hodges looks at how repentance is integral in the life of a believer, one who already has everlasting life through believing in Jesus for the gift of everlasting life. Zane demonstrates how forgiveness is different for the gift of everlasting life, and how forgiveness and restoration to fellowship is repeatedly needed in the Christian life. Zane looks at the issues of how Palestinian Jews alive during the time of Jesus had the special requirement of water baptism, not for eternal life, but to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, forgiveness of sins, and fellowship with God. Zane also examines briefly, the concept of positional forgiveness that a believer has in Jesus Christ.

  • Repentance Part 2 - The Fundamental Nature and Results of Repentance - Zane Hodges
    Oct 19 2026

In this second message on the nature and results of repentance. Zane Hodges demonstrates biblically how repentance is not a requirement for the reception of everlasting life, but a requirement to avoid the temporal judgment of God. Zane gives further examples of believers in Jesus who needed to repent to avoid the temporal judgment of God.

  • Repentance, Part 1: Is Repentance a Change of Mind or a Condition for Receiving Eternal Life?
    Oct 12 2026

In this first of three messages on the subject of Repentance, Zane Hodges looks at the meaning of repentance and asks the question whether repentance is a condition for receiving salvation or eternal life. Among Free Grace circles, repentance is popularly defined as a change of mind and is a requirement for salvation. However, is this definition and requirement biblical? Hodges demonstrates that repentance is properly understood as a turning from sins and repentance is not a requirement for salvation.

  • Who Am I? Who Is He? - Luke 8:19-25 - Zane C. Hodges
    Oct 5 2026

    Luke 8:19-25
Who Am I? Who Is He?
    Zane C. Hodges (1989)

A very real spiritual identity crisis often lies at the root of the frustrations and failures that we experience in Christian living. Sometimes under the pressures of life, we forget who Jesus is and what He is like. We forget the greatness of His power, the sufficiency of His strength, the abundance of His mercy and the plenitude of His grace, and Jesus becomes like a stranger. Jesus Christ has everything we could possibly need or want and yet He is always right there right besides us. The shortest way to the end of our frustrations, difficulties and perplexities, is the companionship and friendship and the presence and power of Jesus Christ, the Almighty Son of God. The Lord Jesus Christ gives Himself to us first as our Savior when we trust Him for that, and then as we learn to obey Him, as our Brother, our Companion and our Friend.

  • Assurance is of the Essence of Saving Faith
    Sep 28 2026

In this message given at the 1997 Grace Evangelical Society National Conference, Zane C. Hodges explores the following questions and topics:

What is the difference between saving faith and assurance? Why is the nature of the gospel message, such that when a person believes the biblical gospel, he necessarily has the assurance of eternal salvation?

If a person is not assured of his eternal salvation, then that person is not believing the gospel message of eternal life. Believing something false never saved anybody, although believing a falsehood may give false assurance.

What is saving faith? Is it a persuasion or a decision? Most false professions are made when the decision/process precedes the persuasion.

What does it mean to believe that Jesus is the Christ? It means that Jesus is the guarantor of resurrection and eternal life to everyone who believes in Him. At the moment of saving faith, the believer is sure that he is eternally saved.

Palestinian Jews at the Time of Jesus - Why Did They Need to be Baptized to Receive Forgiveness?

Salvation and Baptism Part 3 - Zane C. Hodges

Part 3 of the Baptism and Salvation series on Acts 2:32–47, exploring how, in this third of four messages on Baptism and Salvation in the Book of Acts, Zane looks at the experience of Jews in the land of Israel on the day of Pentecost. Why did God require that this group of Jews who were directly responsible for the crucifixion for the Lord Jesus Christ, be baptized first before they received the forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit? Why is the forgiveness of sins different than eternal life?

  • Conversion of Saul - Baptism and Salvation, Part 2 (Acts 9, 22 and 26)
    Sep 7 2026

By looking at the conversion experience of Saul on the road to Damascus, Zane Hodges demonstrates that the Apostle Paul did not receive the three great blessings of salvation at the same time. Saul received the gift of everlasting life at his initial moment of belief in Jesus as the Christ, the guarantor of eternal life to all who believe in Him. Saul did not receive the forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit until 3 days after water baptism. The experience of Saul illustrates how the blessings of everlasting life, the forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit are distinct blessings.

    Baptism and Salvation, Part 2 (1975) Acts 9:1-18, 22:6-16, 26: 12-18 Conversion of Saul by Zane C. Hodges Other passages mentioned include: John 20:31 Revelation 20:5-7, 11-15 1 John 1:7 Acts 10:47
