  • 23: Off The Record: Running Questions We’ve Never Asked Each Other
    Sep 29 2026

What happens when two married runners throw a bunch of running questions they’ve never dreamed to ask each other into a shoebox… and agree to honestly answer whatever gets pulled out?

You get Episode 23 Off The Record: Running Questions We’ve Never Asked Each Other.

This week, we ditched the usual format, filled a running shoebox with candid questions our friend put together, and took turns pulling them at random. Some were hilarious. Some were completely unexpected and some got way more personal than we thought they would.

And a few had us wondering why we ever agreed to answer these things out loud.

We talk about running, racing, marriage, pet peeves, the things we’ve learned about each other through this sport, and a few confessions we definitely did not see coming. Come along with us for this wild ride!

  • 22: Finding a Fueling Strategy That Actually Works For You with Registered Dietician Holly
    Sep 15 2026

Laura hits the trail with her running bestie, registered dietitian Holly, to talk about running nutrition and fueling strategies that work with your brain and your body. They share their own fueling pitfalls, mishaps, and trial-and-error moments as they learned what worked for them. They explore sensory sensitivities, time blindness, and practical strategies to help runners who forget to fuel or hydrate or get so hyper-focused on hitting their pace goals that they forget to listen to their bodies.

From ADHD friendly fueling systems to finding alternatives to gels and other fuels you can actually tolerate, Holly breaks it all down into simple, practical strategies. She helps make fueling for race training, hydration, race day nutrition, and post-run recovery feel less overwhelming and much more doable.

  • 20: When You Can't Run: Injury, Identity & The Race You're Still Chasing
    Aug 18 2026

What happens when running gets taken away?

As we build towards races, our training becomes intertwined with our self-image. But what happens when our bodies tell us, “Not on my timeline!" Today, we welcome back our dear friend in the Wired To Run family, Troy, who shares his personal journey through several injuries and inspiring resilience on his road to his first world major.

Laura and Troy dig into the frustration of being sidelined and the unexpected new plan. They discuss the challenges around missed workouts, watching everyone else keep training, constantly recalculating race-day expectations, and the fear that taking time off means losing progress or even losing part of your identity.

They also explore the pressure runners put on themselves to push through pain, the emotional weight of changing a training plan, and why being sidelined can feel like a crushing loss. When running becomes part of who you are, an injury doesn’t just affect your body. It can shake your confidence, your routine, your goals, and your sense of where you belong as a runner.

So what happens when the original plan no longer works? How do you adjust without feeling like you’ve given up?

    Jul 20 2026

In Episode 18, Laura and Will were honored to have the opportunity to sit down with Jacqueline Kelly, founder of Kelly Performance and Wellness, to explore how mental training can strengthen physical performance.

Jacqueline Kelly, MS, CMPC, NASM-CPT, NSCA CSCS, NSAC-TSAC, is a former NCAA basketball player, Registered Psychotherapist, Certified Mental Performance Consultant, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and Personal Trainer with more than 20 years of experience. From quieting negative self-talk and managing race day anxiety to building confidence through visualization, she shares practical tools to help runners feel stronger when the miles and their minds get difficult. She also challenges the traditional idea of mental toughness by explaining what it means to become “Unfragile” and not hiding your emotions or pushing through at any cost, but learning how to stay grounded, adapt, and come back stronger when life or running knocks you off course.
