  • What is Love?
    Feb 13 2026

    It’s a many-splendoured thing.

    It’s all you need.

    It’s like oxygen.

Rhianydd feels it in her fingers and - strangely - Morgan feels it in his toes.

What are we talking about? Well it’s LUURRRVE of course!

What is it? Why do we feel it? How many kinds are there?

Join Morgan and Rhianydd as we ponder this one out, sharing our insights and marvelling at the wisdom of those clever buggers the ancient Greeks, who seem to have had it all sorted out millennia ago.

And on top of all that we’ll be treating you to a brand new Wenglish Word of the Week, as well as sharing our cultural highlights of the week gone by.

  • Is it ever ok to lie?
    Feb 7 2026

Following last episode’s bombshell announcement that Morgan wants to be less of a people pleaser and more of a people displeaser, happily going around telling people exactly what he thinks of them, this week we ask the question...

‘Is it ever ok to lie?’

From teeny-tiny white lies through to humongous whoppers that make your nose grow longer than a Valleys terrace, we consider the pros and cons of telling fibs.

Surely sometimes it’s better to, er, bend the truth a little?:

‘Does my bum look big in this?’

‘Mammy where do babies come from?’

‘Why weren’t you in the team meeting last night, Rhianydd?’

Are these questions we should ever answer truthfully?

Or, do we owe it to people to tell them the honest truth if they ask for it?

    Hmmm, it’s a tricky one!

So pop your headphones in, tell your other half that you’re listening to that other podcast that they’ve been telling you about, and cwtch up with us.

Plus, we’ve got the best ever Wenglish Word of the Week and unmissable Cultural Moments. HONESTLY NOW, MUN!

  • Happy New Year... Resolutions?
    Jan 23 2026

Happy New Year everyone!, or as we say in Wenglish, “‘Appy New Yer, But!”

So it’s January again - a time for reflection; a time for plans and promises; a time for standing on the bathroom scales and silently weeping.

And as Morgan and Rhianydd emerge blinking into the grey light of dawn from their Christmas debaucheries it’s time to consider what 2026 holds in store, whether it’s getting fit, changing jobs, or learning a new skill. Why do we make New Year’s Resolutions, and do we ever keep them?

Maybe you’re doing Dry January? (we’re not!)

    Maybe you’re doing Veganuary? (nope!)

As well as this, instead of joining the gym we’re bringing you another classic Wenglish Word of the Week, and of course we’ve got some fabulous cultural moments to tickle your jaded palates.

    Spoiling you, we are see.

So take off your daps, grab your zero alcohol beer and cwtch up with us.

  • The Christmas Edition Episode
    Dec 23 2025

Deck the halls with boughs of holly, God rest ye merry gentlemen, We’re walking in the air...

    It’s Chriiiiiissstmaaaaaaaaas!

Yes, the season of joy and good cheer is upon us once again and it’s gone all Dickensian in WCITJ Towers as Morgan Cratchitt and Rhianydd Scrooge meet once again over a thimbleful of eggnog to share a box of chocolate-covered sprouts and put the world to rights.

This Yuletide we ponder such timeless teasers as, is it better to give or to receive (quiet in the cheap seats!)? When’s the right time to open your pressies? And what’s the best Christmas song ever (clue - it’s not by bloody Cliff Richard!)?

We share some childhood Christmas memories and Rhianydd challenges Morgan with some frankly bizarre examples of 19th century Christmas cards. Think the Victorian Christmas was all about plum pudding and hot toddies? Think again!

And because Christmas is a time for giving we’re spoiling you with TWO Wenglish Words of the Week, and a couple of properly cultural cultural moments for your delight and delectation.

    Nadolig Llawen pawb!

  • What is your favourite myth, legend or fable?
    Dec 4 2025

As winter draws in and we put our winter drawers on, Rhianydd and Morgan like to gather round the fire to tell each other stories that have been handed down for generations (or more likely we’ve just found on the interweb).

It’s an age-old human need, to banish the cold and dark with tales of long ago; tales of gods, monsters, princesses, knights in shining armour and bloody huge dogs with big sharp fangs that terrorise the life out of hapless travellers on the dark highway…

Cwtch up with us as we share our favourite stories, and prepare to shed a tear or two over one of Wales’s most famous - and heartbreaking - legends. You’ll probably need to console yourselves with a sherry and a mince pie or two, so go and crack a bottle open while we get comfy.

As well as tales we also have another wonderful Wenglish Word of the Week for you, and a poignant cultural moment.

  • Was life better or worse BI?
    Nov 20 2025

Was life better B what? What are these whimsical Welsh wallies on about now?

Well, for the uninformed, ‘BI’ = Before Internet!

You’d have to be over thirty (or possibly even as old as Morgan and Rhianydd) to remember such halcyon days: days when if you wanted to find something out you had to … look in a book!; days when if you wanted to buy cinema tickets you had to … go and queue up!; days when if you had to drive somewhere you had to… (gasps)...read a bloody map!

We had patience! We had resourcefulness! We had critical thinking skills!

Think of what we miss out on now that we have the answers at our fingertips: whole nights in the pub arguing whether it was ‘Robert thingummy’ or ‘Al whatshisname’ in ‘that film’, and wait a minute ‘is he still alive anyway?’. Or the joys of waiting for the bus in the rain, wondering whether it would even turn up, with no way of finding out…

Hmmm. Maybe life BI wasn’t all it’s cracked up to be after all.

So yes, this week Morgan and Rhianydd debate the pros and cons of t’interweb, what we’ve lost and what we’ve gained. And what we would have done with it if it had been a thing in 1987 (nothing good in Rhianydd’s case, it turns out).

And no, the irony of the fact that we can only do this podcasting lark because of the world-wide-net, or whatever the young people are calling it these days, isn’t entirely lost on us.

There’s a pungent Wenglish Word of the Week, and if we can’t think of a cultural moment, we’ll just pop on chatgpt to help us out. No one will notice.

  • Guess who's coming to dinner?
    Nov 6 2025

Imagine the scene - you and five of your all time heroes gathered round the dinner table for a night of good food, good company and - hopefully - good wine. Ahh, bliss…

Who would be on your list?: Elvis? Obama? Attenborough?

But hang on, does Elvis give a good-god-damn about the environment? Could you sit Lady Gaga and Marilyn Monroe together or would they end up clawing each-other’s eyes out? It’s a flippin minefield!

Yes, this week Morgan and Rhianydd discuss their dream dinner party, the five people (living, dead or fictional) that they’d most like to break bread with, and why. There are some shock omissions, some curveballs and even some last minute substitutions after one of Morgan’s guests couldn’t get a babysitter.

So, if you fancy whetting your appetite with us, grab a glass of wine and cwtch in by there next to Anne Boleyn, just be careful she doesn’t bleed all over your Findus Pancakes.

For afters we’ve of course got a cracking Wenglish Word of the Week, while our cultural moments, will be served alongside the coffee and mints while someone phones a taxi for Rhianydd, because actually, everyone else has gone home now.

  • Do Ghosts exist?
    Oct 23 2025

Whhoooooooo, it’s that time of year again, when the nights draw in, spirits walk abroad and Rhianydd gets her sprouts on in time for Christmas. Interestingly this episode was recorded as Spring had sprung, bringing with it fresh new life and growth which got Rhianydd to thinking about death!!! So as Halloween approaches, what better time to unleash this episode. If you’re ga-ga about ghouls, soft on spectres or potty about Poltergeists then this week’s episode is for you!

In this episode, Morgan and Rhianydd explore the world of ghosts, ghouls and things that go bump in the night: What was that thing that made a British army officer run screaming into the night? Who controlled the ouija board in Morgan’s Streatham flat, and why did Mary get ‘sucked off’?

If you want to know the answers to all these questions and more then cwtch up with a crucifix and a cuppa by a roaring fire, draw the curtains, lock all the doors and tune in.

If there’s something strange in your neighbourhood, who ya gonna call? Whose Coat Is That Jacket of course!

And we’ve got a decidedly un-spooky Wenglish Word of the Week, and two completely unseasonal cultural moments, so don’t miss that!
