  • The Cost of Holding It All Together with Carla Royal | #15
    Oct 20 2026

In this episode of What’s the Gift?, Mike Oglesbee talks with Carla Royal about success, performance, vulnerability, mental health, and what happens when the person everyone believes can handle everything is struggling underneath the surface.

Carla works with high-performing founders and entrepreneurs who often have plenty of business advisors but nowhere to bring the personal pressure, grief, relationship strain, identity shifts, and private struggles that affect how they lead. She explains that many successful people feel pressure to keep a mask up and appear as though everything is going well, even when their personal lives are falling apart.

Carla also shares her own deeply personal journey. After losing her mother, experiencing the breakdown of her marriage and faith, and struggling with alcohol and suicidal thoughts, she reached a point where she attempted to take her own life. When she recovered, she realized that beneath all of the pain was a part of her that still wanted to live.

That realization became the beginning of a much longer process. Carla explains that healing was not an instant transformation. It took years of therapy, support, nervous system work, trauma-informed care, and learning how to live with pain without being completely consumed by it.

Mike and Carla also discuss the difference between pain and suffering, why asking for help is not weakness, and why successful people still need people who can walk beside them. They explore how real strength comes from being willing to acknowledge struggle instead of hiding behind performance.

    In this episode:

    ● The hidden struggles behind high performance

    ● Why success does not always equal fulfillment

    ● The pressure to appear like everything is okay

    ● Carla’s experience with grief, depression, alcohol, and suicidal thoughts

    ● The realization that she still wanted to live

    ● Why healing can take years rather than one breakthrough moment

    ● The difference between pain and suffering

    ● Why asking for help is a strength

    ● How trauma-informed support changed Carla’s life

    ● Why founders and leaders need personal support too

    ● How to build a life that feels meaningful beyond money and success

This episode is a reminder that strength does not mean handling everything alone. Sometimes the most important step is allowing someone else into the struggle and discovering that support, honesty, and connection can help us find our way forward.

  • Coming Home to Yourself with Christine Ruch | #14
    Oct 13 2026

In this episode of What’s the Gift?, Mike Oglesbee talks with Christine Ruch about chronic illness, identity, surrender, healing, and learning to trust the intelligence of the body.

Christine shares her journey of living with multiple sclerosis while building a successful restaurant and food brand in Boulder, Colorado. From the outside, her life looked successful, but underneath, she was carrying fear, stress, and a deep sense that the life she built was no longer the life she was meant to live.

After the pandemic created major challenges for her businesses, Christine eventually closed three businesses she had spent a decade building. That ending also exposed deeper questions about her marriage, identity, health, and what she truly wanted next.

A major turning point came when Christine realized she needed to choose herself. That calling led her to Costa Rica, where she moved into the jungle to be alone, rest, reconnect with nature, and understand what life was asking of her.

In Costa Rica, Christine met two healers who introduced her to somatic alignment. Through that work, she began coming home to herself, reconnecting with her body, rebuilding self-trust, and realizing that healing was not only about searching outside herself for answers. It was also about learning to listen within.

Mike and Christine also discuss surrender, authenticity, inner authority, embodiment, and the difference between knowledge and true knowing. Christine explains that the greatest gift of her journey was the gift of her true self: freedom, liberation, sovereignty, and the ability to help others heal in a deeper way.

    In this episode:

    ● Christine’s journey with multiple sclerosis

    ● Why she closed three businesses after a decade of building

    ● Why she had to choose herself

    ● What led her to the jungle of Costa Rica

    ● How somatic alignment helped her reconnect with herself

    ● Why healing is not only about external answers

    ● The difference between knowledge and true knowing

    ● What surrender looks like in real life

    ● Why coming home to yourself is part of healing

This episode is a reminder that sometimes life dismantles what we built so we can return to who we truly are. When we stop abandoning ourselves, listen deeply, and surrender to the truth within, healing becomes a path back home.

  • From Surviving to Thriving with Brigitte Cutshall | #13
    Oct 6 2026

In this episode of What’s the Gift?, Mike Oglesbee sits down with Brigitte Cutshall to talk about health challenges, resilience, curiosity, kindness, and learning how to live with deeper purpose.

Brigitte shares her journey through breast cancer twice, melanoma, and a rare brain tumor. Instead of letting those experiences define her through fear, she became more intentional with her health, her time, and the way she shows up in the world. A major theme of the conversation is being proactive. Brigitte talks about getting regular checkups, asking questions, researching her health, listening to her body, and partnering with doctors. Her curiosity became one of the tools that helped her navigate difficult diagnoses and make informed decisions.

Mike and Brigitte also discuss what it means to slow down. Before her health challenges, Brigitte was busy traveling, working, raising children, and chasing success. Through those experiences, she learned to say no more often, stop making money her main purpose, and focus more on joy, family, health, writing, and meaningful work.

The conversation also explores judgment, kindness, and human value. Brigitte shares how experiences from childhood, her mother’s background, desegregated schools, and being judged shaped her commitment to seeing value in every person. She explains that kindness is deeper than being nice because kindness is intentional and rooted in character.

    In this episode:

    ● Brigitte’s journey through major health challenges

    ● Why being proactive with your health matters

    ● How curiosity helped her ask better questions

    ● Why she learned to listen to her body

    ● How health challenges taught her to slow down

    ● Why money stopped being her main purpose

    ● The difference between being nice and being kind

    ● Why everyone has value beyond what they do

    ● How writing, speaking, and health advocacy became part of her work

This episode is a reminder that life’s hardest moments can become turning points. When we stay curious, choose kindness, and focus on what truly matters, we can move from surviving into a more intentional and meaningful way of living.

  • Turning Breakthroughs into Lasting Change with Jill Sitnick | #12
    Sep 29 2026

In this episode of What’s the Gift?, Mike Oglesbee talks with Jill Sitnick, founder of The Journey Sage and author of Rescuing Jill, about childhood trauma, PTSD, MDMA assisted therapy, inner child work, and the process of turning healing experiences into real change.

Jill shares that from the outside, her life looked successful. She had a long term partner, steady work, and a strong career, but underneath she was carrying anxiety, fear, and survival strategies she did not yet understand. After the death of her partner, those old patterns came forward in a way she could no longer ignore.

A major focus of the conversation is Jill’s experience with MDMA assisted therapy. She explains that the medicine did not magically heal everything in the moment. Instead, it helped her access painful memories with less fear, see them from an adult perspective, and begin changing the stories she had carried since childhood.

Mike and Jill also talk about integration. Jill emphasizes that breakthroughs are only the beginning. The real change happens afterward, when people revisit what came up, repair old memories, respond differently to triggers, and give younger parts of themselves the care they needed.

The conversation also explores what life can look like after deep healing. Jill describes moving from fear and survival into calmness, joy, happiness, and the ability to see glimmers instead of only triggers.

    In this episode:

    ● Why success can hide survival strategies

    ● How childhood trauma can shape adult anxiety

    ● What MDMA assisted therapy helped Jill access

    ● Why the breakthrough is not the whole healing process

    ● How integration turns insight into lasting change

    ● Why inner child work matters

    ● How triggers can become invitations to repair

    ● What it means to see glimmers instead of only triggers

This episode is a reminder that healing is not just about one powerful experience. Mike and Jill explore how real change happens when people understand what was revealed, return to themselves with compassion, and keep integrating those insights into everyday life.

  • Seeing Reality Differently with Tim Shields | #11
    Sep 22 2026

In this episode of What’s the Gift?, Mike Oglesbee talks with Tim Shields about manifestation, perception, consciousness, generational trauma, and what changes when someone begins to see their life through a different story.

Tim explains that manifestation is not just about trying to change the outside world. He sees reality as something that begins internally, through thought, awareness, belief, emotion, and the stories people carry. Many people live from old wounds or unconscious programs without realizing those patterns are shaping what they see and experience.

A major focus of the conversation is the evolution of consciousness. Tim shares that raising awareness means moving beyond fear, separation, judgment, and inherited stories. He talks about the way childhood wounds, family patterns, and generational trauma can become invisible

forces that guide someone’s life until they choose to examine them.

Mike and Tim also talk about healing as a journey toward wholeness. Tim explains that people are always going to be triggered, but the work is learning how to recognize the old story, make a different choice, and return to a more conscious way of living.

The conversation also explores dreams, calling, surrender, and the courage it takes to step into the unknown. Tim shares stories from his writing, his travels, and his new book, explaining that fear does not always disappear before the leap. Sometimes the net appears after someone finally jumps.

    In this episode:

    ● Why manifestation starts internally

    ● How perception shapes reality

    ● Why fear and separation keep people stuck

    ● What it means to raise consciousness

    ● How generational trauma gets passed down

    ● Why healing can be seen as a return to wholeness

    ● How surrender opens new possibilities

    ● Why stillness helps people hear their own guidance

This episode is a reminder that life changes when perception changes. Mike and Tim explore how people can move beyond inherited stories, listen more deeply, and begin creating a life from awareness, courage, and trust.

  • Positive From The Inside Out With Katie Ruffino | #10
    Sep 15 2026

What if staying positive is not about forcing better thoughts, but finally being honest about what is underneath them?

In this episode of What’s The Gift?, Mike Oglesbee sits down with Katie Ruffino, founder of Sunnyside Katie, for a conversation about mindset, positivity, self-worth, health, performance, and learning how to create change from the inside out.

Katie explains why many people try to stay positive through willpower, affirmations, and surface-level thinking, while never addressing the deeper beliefs that are actually shaping their lives. She shares how real positivity is not performative. It comes from doing the inner work,

releasing old beliefs, and becoming honest about what you actually feel.

Katie also opens up about her own journey through physical health struggles, burnout, career success that still felt misaligned, and the moment she realized she had built a life that looked right on paper but felt like a cage. Through that experience, she learned to listen to her body, trust herself, and stop outsourcing her worth to success, approval, or expectations.

    In this episode:

    ● Why positive thinking alone is not enough

    ● How toxic positivity can become avoidance

    ● Why honesty is the first step toward real change

    ● How the body can reveal deeper misalignment

    ● Why success on paper can still feel empty

    ● Why your worth is not something you have to earn

What if the patterns shaping your life are not fixed, but waiting for you to become aware of them?

In this episode of What’s The Gift?, Mike Oglesbee sits down with Kali J. Banks for a conversation about awareness, self-love, suffering, identity, and the power of choosing who you become in the present moment.

Kali shares why real transformation begins with paying attention to yourself. He explains how many people give their best patience, kindness, and understanding to others, while withholding that same care from themselves. Through his perspective, self-love becomes less of a concept and more of a practice of listening inward, honoring what you need, and recognizing that you are not your thoughts, your body, or the old story you were given.

Together, Mike and Kali explore how pain can become a doorway to growth, why suffering often comes from holding onto pain longer than needed, and how awareness gives people the power to choose differently right now.

Together, Mike and Richard explore the connection between psychology, spirituality, and personal responsibility. They discuss how pain can become a doorway to awareness, why people must become coachable before they can change, and how supporting others instead of
