  • Blondie - Side A
    Feb 24 2026

Six songs to kick off Side A from Blondie's debut. We discover that X Offender isn't about Trump and Epstein, but rather is a cautionary tale about falling in love (or lust) with your local copper! There's drum fills aplenty, a few mix issues, and we talk a fair bit about Debbie Harry's voice. But, will new wave surf rock tickle Corey's pickle? Will Kev had any damn clue what West Side Story is? And what in god's name does anti-dandruff shampoo have to do with this week's episode?

The only way to find out is to turn on, tune in, and wear your best suit.

  • Get Ready for Blondie
    Feb 17 2026

Iggy Pop recalls inviting Blondie to tour with him at a time when David Bowie was playing keyboards in his backing band. "Debbie was an American ponytail girl as seen through the lens of Roger Vadim; Barbarella on speed, or something like that."

With Barbella on speed and Chris Stein right behind her, Blondie had all the ingredients to take on the world. But would internal friction pull the band apart? Would anyone take a blonde bombshell seriously as a frontwoman in a rock n roll band, and would Mike Chapman be able to polish these rough diamonds enough to see them dazzle the world?

The only way to find out is to turn on, tune in, and call me.

  • Graceland
    Feb 3 2026

By the mid-1980s, apartheid-era South Africa was subject to a global cultural boycott, strongly advocated by the African National Congress (ANC) and supported by the United Nations. Musicians were explicitly asked not to perform, record, or collaborate in South Africa, regardless of intent. In 1984–85, Paul Simon traveled to South Africa to record with Black South African musicians, including members of Ladysmith Black Mambazo. He did not seek ANC approval beforehand and broke the cultural boycott in the process. But was it worth it? Did Simon accomplish anything creatively or culturally worth his bold contravention of the global attitude toward the South African regime?
