  • Sing Sing (2023)
    Aug 31 2026

Even though Sing Sing was released in 2023, it weirdly feels like it was swallowed by the post-covid haze that caused many films to be overlooked or outright forgotten. Despite A24 fumbling the awards campaign and a limited release, it still managed to nab a few Academy Award nominations and has sustained a following by those who know. This biographical prison-drama has strong performances and is able to transcend the cliches of its genre, but what truly makes it stand out is the inclusion of several non-actors who were involved in the real life events that it was based on, blurring the line between biopic and documentary,

  • Eyes Wide Shut (1999)
    May 11 2026

No podcast is ever just a podcast - especially this episode, where after 5+ years of doing this thing we're finally getting around to talking about a Stanley Kubrick film. Hopefully the wait was worth it, because it's lead to one of our most divisive, unwieldy and longest discussions ever. Is Eyes Wide Shut a film that peels back the layers of a conspiracy related to real life horrors (a la Jeffrey Epstein), or is it really just a pitch-black comedy about Tom Cruise not being able to get laid? Regardless of our conclusion, hopefully you enjoy the ride.

  • No Country for Old Men (2007)
    Mar 9 2026

What's the most you've ever lost on a podcast? Erm I mean coin toss! We're back to talk about the Coen brothers once again, with their 2007 neo-western/crime-thriller adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's novel 'No Country for Old Men'. This film takes a simple game of cat-and-mouse between anti-hero and villain and turns into a strangely poetic tale about morality and the passage of time. A critical, commercial, and award-winning success upon release, it is often (rightfully) cited as one of the greatest modern films.

  • Repo Man (1984)
    Dec 18 2025

A lot of people don’t realize what’s really going on…they view life as a series of unconnected incidents, but you can’t blame the lattice of coincidence for us wanting to talk about Alex Cox’s 1984 film Repo Man. This cult-favorite sci-fi comedy sees both punk-rock and blue-collar tangled up in government conspiracy in the most hastily duct-taped together way imaginable that somehow just works. Society might’ve lead of led you to the sorry fate of listening to this podcast, but the least you can do is grab a snack, and enjoy the mayhem with us - just make sure to

  • Blue Velvet (1986)
    Jul 9 2025

Are you a pod, or are you some kind of cast? I guess that's for us to know, and you to find out...that's the line right? This was originally going to be an episode covering 'The Straight Story', but instead we're paying a late homage to the passing of director David Lynch by talking about his film 'Blue Velvet'. It might not be his most complex, surreal, or emotional film, but it somehow is THE Lynch film, if that makes sense,. We get into the sex, violence, importance of music, Alex's undying love for Twin Peaks, comparisons to Mulholland Drive, and much more.

Starring - Kyle McLachlan, Isabella Rosselini, Dennis Hopper, Laura Dern, Dean Stockwell, Jack Nance

  • Tenet (2020)
    Apr 8 2025

During a time where a global pandemic was ravaging the world, people were finally able to flock back to the theater for their first big theatrical experience in almost a year. What were they given after an overwhelming time? The film equivalent of your brain short circuiting! Christopher was back with 'Tenet'. Weirdly sandwiched between his historical dramas 'Dunkirk' and 'Oppenheimer', is this a natural progression on his usual twisty formula, or is a regression into old tropes?

Starring - John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Kenneth Branagh, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Michael Caine

  • Minari (2020)
    Nov 25 2024

We're covering a semi-recent film for the first time in ages with the slice-of-life drama 'Minari', a film that was one of the rare highlights from a year that brought us a global pandemic. We drink the white man's golden elixir (Miller Lite) as we dive deep into the films portrayal of an immigrant family going for the American Dream, adapting to a midwest lifestyle, and the various problems that threaten their harmonious dynamic. Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, whose follow up to this small and emotionally delicate film was the recent Twister soft-reboot (?), and stars Steven Yuen, a man given the chance to escape his Walking Dead fame and never look back - Minari has us reaching for the nearest Kleenex, and contemplating our religion.
