    Jul 23 2026

What an amazing musical story. Mike was playing guitar at 14, building them at 19 and building them at a very high level shortly after. He went from Charvel to Yamaha to heading up the Fender Custom Shop building custom guitars for loads of heavy hitters. Somewhere in there he found time to start blues band The Blue Diamonds and then Lee Rocker's Big Blue with the Stray Cats' bass player, and then on to the Mike Elred Trio. After leaving Fender he decided to build his own brand of guitars, El Cabron, which are in high demand. Mike has been in the middle of countless epic stories over the years and we were fortunate to get a taste of that amazing life here. Give it a listen!
