  • 001: My Story & What is Live FAB Life
    Aug 11 2017

In this first official episode of the Live FAB Life Podcast, I'm sharing my story and just what is Live FAB Life all about.

To help me do so, I enlisted the help of my friend and fellow podcast, Elizabeth Fernandez of the SparkDialog podcast.

In this reverse interview, we talk about why health is important to me; what is a health coach, how and why I became one, how I help people and what people can do to get started.

Welcome to Episode 000 of the Live FAB Life podcast!

In this mini intro episode, I'm introducing myself and sharing my vision for this podcast: to present you with a different way of looking at your health and to have real, honest and transparent conversations on the challenges that women working in the corporate world face, and how they impact our health.

    This podcast is for you:

    • If you're struggling with your health and doing all things you've been told you're supposed to do and it's not working
    • Or if you're not doing all the things you know you should be doing but just aren't sure where to start
    • If you feel like your work is compromising your health
    • If you're exhausted and frustrated because you're not able to get a good night's sleep
    • If you've overtrained and can't seem to recover

  • 002: Functional Medicine, Gut Health + Hormones and Natural Ways of Healing
    Aug 12 2017

In this episode, I'm joined by Dr. Melissa Esguerra. Dr. Melissa is a doctor of chiropractor, a functional medicine practitioner, a clinical nutritionist and is certified in kundalini yoga.

She helps women go from feeling stuck + sluggish to feeling stellar + centered in their own skin.

Like a makeup artist who helps her clients get dolled up and looking fab, Dr. Melissa helps her clients look and FEEL fabulous from the inside out.

In our discussion we talk about what is functional medicine, the importance of digestion and how it impacts thyroid and hormones and what her favorite sources of natural healing are.

It's only fitting that Dr. Melissa is the first guest on this podcast. I'm a former patient of hers and she was THE person who introduced me to functional medicine, holistic health and natural ways of healing.

It was a pleasure to catch up with Dr. Melissa and I hope you enjoy our chat as much as I did!

  • 003: Environmental Toxins and Your Health with Lara Adler
    Aug 22 2017

In this episode, I'm joined by Lara Adler.

Lara is an Environmental Toxins Expert, Educator, and a Certified Holistic Health Coach. She teaches practitioners within the health & wellness community to better understand the links between environmental chemicals and their impact on health issues - from weight gain and diabetes to thyroid disease and infertility - so they can more comprehensively support their clients and patients. She also teaches health enthusiasts who are proactive about protecting their and their family's health & well being, helping them achieve the peace of mind that they're doing the best they can.

Lara is deeply committed to peeling back the curtain and opening up the conversation about environmental toxins in a way that's informative, accessible, actionable and free from overwhelm.

I'm a student of Lara's. Under her guidance, I've studied environmental toxins and how they influence and impact our health metabolically and hormonally. She has a wealth of information to share, and I'm so thrilled to have her on the show sharing her wisdom with all of us.

What I loved learning from Lara is her sensible and practical approach to dealing with environmental toxins which you'll hear all about in this interview.

  • 004: Mercury Toxicity and Biologic and Integrative Dentistry with Dr. Helen Alderson
    Aug 29 2017

In this episode, I'm joined by Dr. Helen Alderson.

Dr. Alderson is a dentist and a naturopath. She's originally from Las Vegas and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1987 for dental school.

Once out in the real world of dentistry, she discovered that many of the traditional paradigms of dental philosophies, treatments, and even anatomy were not necessarily accurate and often detractive to the general well being and health of individual and their teeth.

So she continued her education and became a doctor of naturopathic medicine.

    In this episode we discuss:

    • What led her to pursue naturopathic medicine in addition to being a dentist
    • How she deals with constant exposure to mercury
    • What kinds of approaches she takes to get rid of mercury in herself and her family, and why.
    • And a whole lot more!

  • 006: Taking the BS Out of Time Management with Vicky Cook
    Sep 12 2017

In this episode, I'm joined by Vicky Cook.

Vicky Cook is a certified transition coach who helps high-achieving women find more purpose, connection, and adventure outside of the corporate walls. She specializes in helping women who are transitioning through their late 30s and 40s awaken to the woman they're craving to be.

I "officially" met Vicky two summers ago in a branding course. It just so happened that we were both going through training programs and getting ready to launch our respective coaching practices.

Previously, we both had personal blogs that we were transitioning from and ironically, I was a reader of Vicky's personal blog! We quickly hit it off and have since gone from online friends to real-life friends!

The work that we do compliment each others so nicely so I asked Vicky to come on the show, specifically for a chat about a blog post she wrote over a year ago that really struck a chord with me. It's a blog post titled, "Taking the BS Out of Time Management."

One of the biggest things I hear from people is that "I don't have time."

...I don't have time to grocery shop.

    ...I don't have time to make a home-cooked meal.

...I don't have time to exercise.

    ...I don't have time for self-care.

Now if you're like me, and somewhat of a productivity-nerd, you may always be in search of the best planner, the best app, or the best process to help you find the time.

But as Vicky says, "I hate to burst your bubble but here's the no-BS reality about time management that no one wants to hear…

...it's not about your calendar or the clock.
...there are no magical tips and tricks.
...there isn't a secret system or a perfect planner that will answer all of your I-don't-have-enough-time prayers.

The cold hard truth is that you don't need to learn how to better manage your time...you need to learn how to set priorities, drop the excuses, and get real with yourself on what you truly want."

And this is what we chat about in this episode.
