Where tactical vigilance meets profound faith.

Renato Peter, former Halberdier of the Pontifical Swiss Guard, bridges the gap between professional security and Catholic spirituality.

The Guardian Watch is more than a guide for service within the Church, it is a journey through the Catechism of the Catholic Church, helping us rediscover our identity as Catholic Christians and protectors. Inspired by the enduring spirit of the Swiss Guard, we form the inner mindset required to lead and protect our communities with courage, humility, and steadfast faith.

This podcast is for everyone, for Guardians and for anyone seeking to deepen their Catholic faith. Together with guests, we explore how to live out the teachings of the Church with a vigilant heart.

New episodes are released on the second and last Sunday of each month, with occasional special episodes in between.

  • Exploring the Catechism | 03: When God Speaks — Why Divine Revelation Matters
    Oct 4 2026

What if the Christian story begins not with our search for God—but with God searching for us?

In this episode of The Guardian Watch, Renato Peter and Jason Whitehead continue their journey through the Catechism of the Catholic Church and explore one of the foundations of the Christian faith: Divine Revelation.

Human reason can lead us to recognize that God exists—but reason alone can only take us so far. Why does God choose to reveal Himself? Why does He do so gradually throughout history? And what does the way God reveals Himself teach us about freedom, love, and our relationship with Him?

Renato and Jason also explore why revelation is ultimately not simply information about God, but an invitation into relationship with Jesus Christ—and how Scripture, Sacred Tradition, Baptism, and our daily response allow that relationship to become part of our lives.

For Guardians, there is an important parallel: security is never the mission in itself. Security serves the mission. We safeguard the space where the Church can carry out her work, where people can encounter Christ, and where God's grace can quietly transform lives.

God has already spoken. The question is whether we are listening—and whether we are willing to respond.

  • Why I Became a Guardian: Faith, Service & Protecting the Church
    Sep 13 2026

What makes someone give up their time, take on responsibility, and stand ready to protect people they may not even know?

In this episode of The Guardian Watch, Renato Peter sits down with Peter, a Guardian serving at St. Philip the Apostle, to talk about the person behind the vest.

Peter shares what first led him to the Guardian Ministry, how serving has strengthened his Catholic faith, and why protecting a parish is about much more than security. From family life and training to fellowship, service, and the responsibility of helping others feel safe, this is an honest look at what it means to serve as a Guardian.

At the heart of the conversation is a simple idea: when God calls us to serve, we first have to be willing to listen—and then be willing to step forward.

  • The Restless Heart: Why We Still Search for God
    Aug 30 2026

Why is the human heart restless, even when we seem to have everything we need?

In this episode of The Guardian Watch, Renato Peter and Jason Whitehead continue their journey through the Catechism of the Catholic Church and explore the desire for God written into every human heart.

They discuss why that desire can become hidden beneath distraction, stress, and the effects of sin; how the Church understands our search for God; and why true peace requires more than simply removing the noise around us.

For Guardians, this has a practical consequence: the people who enter our churches are more than what we see on the surface. Each person carries a story, a burden, and a dignity that must never be forgotten.

A Guardian does not create the encounter with God; he faithfully protects the space where that encounter can take place.
