    Brenda Edwards, an owner of TexaStone Quarries in Garden City, TX and TexaCon Cut Stone in Bloomington, IN, has been in the stone industry for over 25 years. During that time, she participated in numerous industry initiatives and associations and held key leadership positions.

    Brenda began Women in Stone, which aims to recruit, retain, and advance women in the natural stone industry by providing networking connections and educational resources. In 2017, she became the recipient of the first-ever Women in Stone Pioneer Award for her devotion to the industry, her willingness to help and teach others about it, and her positive impact on the future of the industry.

    In this episode, Brenda sits with the Green Bean Crew to talk about her start in the stone industry, working in a male-dominated industry, being “retired”, and the story of Lazy E Retreat - the only castle in West Texas.

    Ben Herron, U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and owner of Bearded Justice Law Firm in Big Spring, TX. Originally from New Mexico, Ben attempted college and ended up serving in the military for 5 years. After discharging, he came away with a discipline that helped him to excel in academics and graduate from law school but he also had an unhealthy relationship with alcohol. Eventually, this led to disbarment and a dark path of contemplating suicide.

    In this episode, Ben talks with the Green Bean Crew about the decisions that led him on this path. Leaving law behind him, and what ignited his passion to return to it. Plus, we talk about Veteran suicide, trauma, and how to deal with that.
