    Welcome to the first episode of a four-part special with the cast and crew of Voiceless.


    On a very wintery Saturday afternoon, Callum sat down with actor, writer, and producer, Matthew Hansen to chat about Matt’s latest project, Voiceless.


    Matt joined the National Youth Theatre after graduation and since then, he has appeared in a growing number of multi-award winning short and feature films, as well as working in theatre. His screenwriting debut was I'm Not Finished, which received selections and awards from film festivals worldwide.


    Voiceless is a short film following a young man with a stammer (Joe) as he is taken along to his friends' writing and performing group. There, he is challenged to overcome his fear of public speaking.


    The film has been screened at film festivals across the UK and Europe.

    As well as being their usual lovely selves, Hendrik and Kirstie share what's going on at the fifth edition of Worcester Film Festival, how becoming BIFA accredited has positively impacted the festival as well as all of the great industry events that are taking place over the four days of festivallng.

    This is the fourth episode in this year's exclusive 5-part mini series in the run up to Worcester Film Festival 2025. During the series Marcus will be speaking with filmmakers whose films will be screened at this year's festival as well as the organisers themselves.


    In this episode, Marcus had a conversation with actor, writer and director, Hayden Mclean.


    Hayden's short film, "The Last Dance", shares the story of an East London bar in the 90s as it is hit with a compulsory purchase order, threatening the existence of the establishment that is a cornerstone of Caribbean life in the area.


    “The Last Dance” is deeply emotional and touching story, inspired by Hayden’s own family history.


    During the conversation they chat about what it was like for Hayden telling a story so personal to him, how he balanced all of his different roles on his directorial debut as well as the serendipitous moments that helped the film be born into existence as well as the joyous experiences he had working with such talented actors.


    "The Last Dance" will be screened at Worcester Film Festival on Thursday 25th September 2025 at 3pm.

    In this episode, Marcus had a conversation with director, writer, producer and animator, Gabi Bania.


    The short animated film "Nibbling of the Night" follows Suzy and Billy, an unhappy middle-aged couple whose affection has long faded away. One night Suzy is visited by two female vampires who become for her a model of the strong, independent, and emancipated woman she always wanted to be.


    During the conversation they chat about the creative and technical aspects of animation, Gabi's literary inspirations and as well as what she looks to achieve and provoke with each one of her films.


    "Nibbling of the Night" will be screened at Worcester Film Festival on Saturday 27th September 2025 at 12pm.
