Do you have everything you're supposed to want, but still feel like something is missing? You're not broken. You've just been looking in the wrong place.

I'm Russell Davis, therapist and executive coach. In Clarity Within, I help ambitious people reconnect with their innate confidence, find genuine clarity and purpose, and build a life that feels as good on the inside as it looks on the outside.

I know this territory firsthand. After years of striving, and an eight-year fertility journey that brought me to a breaking point, I discovered that clarity and confidence aren't things you earn. They already live within you.

Each episode explores honest conversations and real insights that create lasting change. Not tools or techniques. Just a deeper understanding of who you are and what you're truly capable of.

The search is over. It starts within.

  • Nothing's Wrong, But Something Feels Missing
    Oct 20 2026

You've done well. The career works, the life looks good from the outside, and you feel you should be happy. But something is missing, and you can't put your finger on it. Maybe it's a quiet dream you've never acted on, or a sense that life is slipping by. Drawing on his own years in a secure corporate job, Russell looks at how people get from "fine" to fulfilled.

    • A life that's comfortable enough is often harder to leave than one that's painful. What are you tolerating?
    • Being brutally honest with yourself about the dreams you've done nothing about is where change starts.
    • Fear of success can be stronger than fear of failure. Russell draws on Steven Pressfield's The War of Art.
    • Commitment means "holding the pose": staying with the discomfort of change rather than going back to what's familiar.
    • Why Russell has worked with a coach for nearly 20 years, and what he means by "a champion for your soul".

The reframe: the itch that says something is missing isn't ingratitude. It's worth listening to.

If you're successful but unfulfilled and quietly wondering, "Is this it?", this one's for you.

  • When Everything Feels Too Much: A Guided Meditation
    Oct 13 2026

When everything feels too much, with too many decisions, too many people needing something and a mind that won't settle, the usual advice is to relax, breathe properly or clear your head. This guided meditation asks nothing of you. You don't need to stop thinking or make yourself calm. For a few minutes, you simply let everything be as it is, and notice what happens when you stop trying to fix it.

    • Why overwhelm is often your mind pulling yesterday, tomorrow and every unfinished task into this one moment.
    • The glitter ball: why a busy mind settles when you leave it alone, not when you manage each thought.
    • If your feelings about a situation can change while the situation stays the same, they weren't telling you as much as they seemed to.
    • The idea that "okay" isn't somewhere you finally get to. It's somewhere you come from.
    • "I don't know yet" can be a place of trust, not anxiety.

The reframe: you don't have to make peace happen. It returns by itself when there's less in the way.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, can't switch off, or need a few quiet minutes to reset, this one's for you. It also works well at bedtime.

Please don't listen while driving or operating machinery.

  • How to Stop Overthinking Every Decision
    Oct 27 2026

If you overthink every decision, you'll know the loop. You weigh every option, imagine every outcome, and the harder you think, the less clear it gets. Russell explores why thinking harder rarely brings clarity, and how to recognise the quieter inner wisdom that already knows the way. He starts with a story about a traveller at a crossroads and a compass that won't settle.

    • We make decisions from two places: anxious, fear-driven thinking, or a deeper wisdom and intuition.
    • Inner wisdom is always kind, often soft, but clear. It tends to show up in quiet moments, not in the middle of analysis.
    • Wise decisions can still feel scary. Leaving a secure job with a baby on the way felt crazy on paper and right underneath.
    • You don't have to justify a decision that comes from wisdom, not to yourself or anyone else.
    • Fear is a misuse of imagination. You can make a decision whether fear is present or not.

The reframe: you don't find the right decision by thinking harder. It shows up once your mind settles, "wrapped in a blanket of simplicity," in Syd Banks' words.

If you go round and round on decisions big and small, this one's for you.
