After celebrating the huge milestone of 400 episodes, The Comic Section Podcast is officially starting the road to 500!

And Issue #401 is PACKED with Marvel and DC news!

😈 DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN TO END WITH SEASON 3

The Man Without Fear is heading toward his final battle.

The upcoming third season of Marvel Studios' Daredevil: Born Again is reportedly set to be the show's final season.

The news comes with another major change behind the scenes as showrunner Dario Scardapane is departing the series during post-production.

After everything it took to bring Charlie Cox's Daredevil back into the MCU, how do we feel about Born Again already approaching the finish line?

Is three seasons enough to tell Matt Murdock's story?

Or is Marvel ending the series too soon?

🎬 THE PARAMOUNT/WARNER BROS. DISCOVERY MERGER MOVES FORWARD

One of Hollywood's biggest corporate deals has cleared another major obstacle.

Paramount Skydance's massive Warner Bros. Discovery merger is moving forward after a settlement with the state attorneys general who had challenged the deal on antitrust grounds.

The merger could dramatically reshape the entertainment industry, bringing major film, television, streaming, and entertainment properties under one enormous corporate umbrella.

What could this mean for Hollywood going forward?

🏹 STEPHEN AMELL TEASES A GREEN ARROW RETURN?!

Just when Stephen Amell thought he was out...

Could Oliver Queen be pulling him back in?

The former Arrow star sent DC fans into speculation mode after posting a mysterious image featuring a hooded archer alongside the words:

“HAVE YOU SEEN THIS MAN…”

And if that wasn't enough, he used music from Arrow and captioned the post:

“Just when I think I'm out…”

So what exactly is Amell teasing?

A return as Oliver Queen?

A cameo?

A completely unrelated project designed to drive us crazy? 😂

Until something official is announced, it's all speculation—but he definitely knew what he was doing with that post.

🦇 THE BATMAN PART II — FIRST OFFICIAL SET IMAGE

THE BAT IS BACK.

Matt Reeves celebrated Batman Day by sharing the first official image from the set of The Batman Part II, giving us a shadowy look at Robert Pattinson's Caped Crusader.

After years of waiting for the follow-up to 2022's The Batman, production is underway and we're finally getting our first official glimpses of Matt Reeves' return to Gotham.

We discuss the image and our excitement for the sequel.

🦆 DARKWING DUCK IS BACK!

From the early episodes to Issue #400, we're incredibly thankful to every host, co-host, guest, friend, listener, viewer, and supporter who has ever been part of The Comic Section.

Whether you've been rocking with us for years or discovered the show last week...

THANK YOU.

Now...

You know we still have some headlines to discuss! 😂

🌴 MIAMI VICE ’85 ADDS JOHN LEGUIZAMO

John Leguizamo is joining the stacked cast of Miami Vice ’85 as a villain.

Directed by Top Gun: Maverick and F1 filmmaker Joseph Kosinski, the new movie already features Michael B. Jordan, Austin Butler, Alden Ehrenreich, Whitney Peak, Camila Morrone, and Danny Ramirez.

The film plans to take audiences back to the glamour, style, danger, and corruption of mid-1980s Miami while reimagining the world of the iconic television series for a new generation.

With Kosinski behind the camera and this cast?

We're paying attention.

🧟 WORLD WAR Z 2 IS BACK FROM THE DEAD!

How appropriate. 😂

More than a decade after the original movie, Brad Pitt is returning for World War Z 2.

After years of false starts, the sequel is moving forward with All Quiet on the Western Front and Conclave filmmaker Edward Berger attached to direct.

But after all this time, does the world still want another World War Z?

And can the sequel finally deliver something closer to the incredible scope and storytelling of Max Brooks' original novel?

💀 ALAN RITCHSON COULD BE A HELLDIVER!

Following Jason Momoa's exit, Alan Ritchson is in talks to star in Sony's Helldivers movie, with Justin Lin directing.

And let's be honest...

Alan Ritchson fighting an army of alien creatures while spreading managed democracy across the galaxy?

Yeah.

We can see it. 😂

🦒 TOYS “R” US IS MAKING A MAJOR COMEBACK!

Kids of the 80s and 90s...

THIS ONE IS FOR US.

Toys “R” Us plans to dramatically expand its standalone U.S. presence with 120 new stores for the 2026 holiday season.

For generations who remember walking through those aisles looking at action figures, video games, bikes, wrestling toys, and everything else we begged our parents to buy...

This hits differently.

Could the Toys “R” Us experience actually make a real comeback?

🏄 POINT BREAK IS BECOMING A TV SERIES

More than 30 years after the original movie starring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze, AMC is heading back into the world of Point Break.

The new series takes place decades after the original film and follows a new group of criminals inspired by the legendary Ex-Presidents.

The FBI must turn to a mysterious former professional surfer to infiltrate the crew.

But can you really capture what made the original Point Break special without Bodhi and Johnny Utah?

We're discussing it.

Then it's trailer time!

BC gives us his thoughts.

On The Comic Section Podcast Issue #399, we're breaking down another packed week of superhero news, sequels, nostalgia, and one very interesting Willy Wonka reality show.

💚 RYAN REYNOLDS WANTS TO APPEAR IN LANTERNS!

While promoting his new Apple TV movie Mayday, Ryan Reynolds was asked whether he'd ever consider making a cameo in HBO's Lanterns.

His answer?

He'd love to do it.

And HBO Max wasted absolutely NO time having some fun with that comment, releasing an edited Lanterns promo that digitally inserted Reynolds' version of Green Lantern into the show. 😂

To be clear, Reynolds hasn't officially joined the series—but now that the idea is out there...

Should DC actually make it happen?

Reynolds also reflected on 2011's Green Lantern, explaining that despite its reputation, he doesn't regret making it. In fact, he credits many of the lessons he learned from that movie with helping shape the rest of his career.

Could bringing him back for one quick multiverse joke, cameo, or alternate Lantern appearance finally give his Hal Jordan the sendoff fans never expected?

🦇 THE BATMAN PART II IS A “RADICAL RETELLING” OF BATMAN?!

Robert Pattinson is making some VERY interesting comments about Matt Reeves' upcoming sequel.

According to Pattinson, The Batman Part II represents a major change and a “really radical retelling of Batman.”

And naturally, the internet has started theorizing.

Could Bruce Wayne have a son?

Are we getting Robin?

Two-Face?

The Phantasm?

The Court of Owls?

Or is Matt Reeves preparing to do something nobody is predicting?

Whatever the answer is, Pattinson says Warner Bros. and DC are allowing Reeves to take a major creative swing.

And after The Batman and The Penguin, we're definitely paying attention.

🕷️ NICOLAS CAGE RESPONDS TO SPIDER-NOIR'S CANCELLATION

After Prime Video canceled Spider-Noir after one season, Nicolas Cage has finally responded.

And surprisingly?

He's good with it.

Cage says that for him, one season was perfect because he was able to say what he wanted to say with his unique, dangerous, pop-art interpretation of Spider-Man Noir.

That's an interesting perspective—especially considering the show earned major Emmy recognition before being canceled.

Was one season enough?

Or did Prime Video pull the plug too soon?

⚰️ THE MUMMY 4 IS OFFICIALLY ROLLING!

Rick O'Connell is BACK.

Brendan Fraser has returned for The Mummy 4, with Rachel Weisz once again joining him as Evelyn.

And this isn't just talk anymore.

Production has officially begun.

Fraser described returning to Rick O'Connell as reconnecting with an old friend, and after decades of fans asking for the original cast to reunite, it's finally happening.

Can The Mummy 4 pull off the same kind of nostalgic comeback that Top Gun: Maverick achieved?

We're ready to find out.

🍫 COMING SOON: WONKA'S THE GOLDEN TICKET

Netflix is turning Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory into a full-blown reality competition.

In Wonka's The Golden Ticket, contestants enter the Chocolate Factory and face a series of unpredictable challenges, temptations, games, and tests inspired by the world of Roald Dahl.

Is this genius?

Completely unnecessary?

Or both? 😂

We check out the trailer and give our first impressions.

🦇 REVIEW: BATMAN — KNIGHTFALL PART ONE

Finally, Jason gives his review of Batman: Knightfall Part One.

DC's new animated adaptation tackles one of the most famous Batman stories ever told as Bane systematically pushes Bruce Wayne beyond his physical and mental limits.

Does the new movie do the legendary comic-book storyline justice?

How does this version of Bane compare to previous adaptations?

And does Part One leave us excited for the rest of the Knightfall trilogy?

Jason gives his verdict.

On The Comic Section Podcast Issue #398, we’re breaking down another wild week in Marvel, DC, movies, television, and geek culture.

🕷️ SPIDER-NOIR CANCELED AFTER ONE SEASON

Prime Video has canceled Spider-Noir, meaning Nicolas Cage’s first regular television role as the gritty alternate-universe Spider-Man won’t return for Season 2.

And the decision is especially surprising considering the series earned 11 Emmy nominations, strong reviews, and billions of minutes watched during its initial streaming run.

So what happened?

Was Spider-Noir simply too expensive? Did Sony and Amazon decide to move in another direction with their Spider-Man television universe? And what could the next Marvel series from that partnership look like?

We get into all of it.

💔 BRUCE CAMPBELL SHARES A SOBERING CANCER UPDATE

“Evil Dead” legend Bruce Campbell has opened up about his cancer diagnosis, revealing that his current prognosis is approximately five years.

But Campbell isn’t allowing the diagnosis to define the way he lives.

The actor, filmmaker, and Ash Williams icon says he has made the conscious decision to “live with it, not die from it” while continuing to focus on his new film Ernie & Emma and the work that still matters to him.

We send Bruce Campbell nothing but love and support.

🥞 THE WAFFLE HOUSE INDEX SOUNDS ABSOLUTELY INSANE

New Marvel X-Men star Inde Navarrette, who is set to play Rogue, is also starring in Apple Original Films’ upcoming sci-fi thriller The Waffle House Index.

And this movie has EVERYTHING.

A Waffle House waitress.

A stranger with a gun.

A massive flood.

Killer crocodiles.

A nuclear explosion.

A mysterious bunker.

And aliens.

Yeah...we need to see this. 😂

⚔️ IS ADRIA ARJONA REALLY THE DCU’S WONDER WOMAN?!

Adria Arjona has revealed the intense training she’s undergoing for Superman: Man of Tomorrow, including extensive weightlifting, cardio, and boxing.

But DC still isn’t saying exactly who she’s playing.

That secrecy has only fueled speculation that Arjona could secretly be the DCU’s new Wonder Woman.

Is the training evidence?

Or are fans putting pieces together that aren’t actually connected?

We discuss the rumors while keeping one thing clear: DC has NOT officially confirmed Arjona as Wonder Woman.

🦸‍♀️ GAL GADOT SPEAKS OUT ABOUT DC’S TRANSITION

Former Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot has also opened up about the end of the previous DC era, saying that the handling of Henry Cavill’s Superman exit and Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman situation was “not handled elegantly.”

Gadot says she was initially told that another Wonder Woman movie would be developed before DC Studios ultimately moved in another direction.

We discuss the messy transition from the DCEU to James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU.

🎬 COMING SOON / PREVIEWThis week we check out the latest trailers for:

🥊 Street Fighter

👥 Brothers

⚡ Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

We react to the latest look at the new Street Fighter movie and return to Hogwarts as HBO’s Harry Potter adaptation gives us a deeper look at its retelling of the first book.
